I believe Charlotte Tilbury line is one of the most exciting makeup launches of the year in the US. For those that don’t know, this is a high end makeup line, curated by a world-renowned British MUA Charlotte Tilbury, and finally her products are now available at select retailers.

…beautiful rose gold coating on the bullet is highly reflective! |
Almost mirror-like shine… unfortunately, that attracts fingerprints. |

Since I have a limited monthly makeup budget, I decided to only buy two things for now, and one of them was K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect. For a luxury makeup line this was an unexpectedly crude name, considering that the packaging is very classy – rose gold ribbed lipstick tube is monogrammed with brand initials, and housed in glossy brown cardboard packaging.
Bitch Perfect is a warm light coral pink with very fine light-reflecting shimmers, that make this otherwise matte color look a bit satin-y. The formula is not super creamy, but it still wore comfortably on the lips throughout the day, without making them feel dry. Since I love smelling my products, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this one has a sweet scent of vanilla frosting to it. Nothing better than a delicious-smelling lippie, since it’s a product I wear for hours right under my nose!

Speaking of wear time… I didn’t find this color particularly long-lasting – it started showing noticeable signs of wear after 3.5 hours without eating or drinking. However, I did enjoy the moisturizing effect; it seemed like my lips were actually getting some nourishment.
K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipsticks feature extract of achiote, or the lipstick tree, that was used by native american women to add color their lips and protect them from the sun. It’s also used as a natural remedy for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
The packaging is visually stunning, but if you are expecting to get one of those nice weighty tubes, à la vintage Estee Lauder, you’re in for a disappointment. I’m not entirely sure what the bullet case is made of, but it looks and feels like cheap plastic with rose gold coating. I figured this was worth mentioning, in case you care about the packaging quality as much as the lippie formula itself.

THE VERDICT
92%, A- points mostly deducted for longevity, and I don’t rate packaging.
Do you need this? Odd naming aside, I think K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect is really nice overall, as expected from a high end brand. The formula contains light-diffusing particles that create the illusion of full and even lip surface, and who wouldn’t want that? However, when I buy expensive products, I expect expensive packaging, so seeing that cheap rose gold-coated plastic bullet was an unpleasant surprise. I’m 50/50 about purchasing any more CT lipsticks at this point, mostly because wear time is a bit short for me, and I was not a fan of the packaging.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
$32 USD for 0.12 oz. Available at Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom.
I almost purchased some stuff from CT the other day but I just can’t justify the price tag just yet.
I totally understand. I sort of gave in to the hype, and while I mostly like the formula of this lipstick, I feel like at this price point there are far better choices, like Givenchy, YSL, or even new NARS Audacious lippies.
I agree the name is a little odd. I love the name, but it doesn’t exactly fit with the rest of the CT image.
Her whole line appears so luxurious ! I have heard of so many people saying this particular shade is a must have, I only want one product from the line since it’s to high.
I have 2 of these lippies, Bitch Perfect looks like Hepburn Honey. Yep, I’m not a fan of the packaging either…
I’m having trouble getting over the price tag, and now knowing that the packaging is not hefty and appears cheap, doesn’t wear as long as some of my $1.99 lipsticks…I think maybe we’re paying for the name. With all that said, I’ll probably still buy something, lol! I’m a sucker for makeup!
This is gorgeous on you! I bought this for the name lmao I haven’t tried it yet, tho!
Loving this shade! So pretty!
Too bad it was so short lived
That’s a smashing color on you!
I love the name of that lipstick and it’s a pretty colour, too. I’d love to check it out in person, one day. Too spendy to order, sight unseen.
It’s a pretty color, but yeah…no. I wonder if there are any dupes of this color? It doesn’t seem all that unique.
I agree with Nidia! I’d be determined to find a dupe!
The packaging doesn’t sound great but it’s really pretty!
I am positively yearning to try these lippies! Too bad about the packaging!
This is a gorgeous shade. I love the color but I still can’t see spending the money on her products yet… I need to see them in person so if you hear of a dupe… holla at ya girl.
I seriously need to jump on this bandwagon! I am dying for Bitch Perfect!
I am SO waiting for the Nordie Chicago launch to snatch up a few of her products. You have to try the Bronzer/Illuminating duo.
Some of the stuff looks interesting! The lipstick looked really pretty on you though!
It’s a gorgeous color but I’m surprised by the name!
I kinda like the name…unless I have to explain it to someone in IRL what I’m wearing! lol
