Thanks to lovely people at Borghese, I received a huge package with a bunch of their products to try. I didn’t promise to review anything, but I figured there are a few things that definitely deserved a blog post, among them these new Eclissare ColorStruck Lipsticks.
I got six shades to sample: Beyond, Cusp, Escape, Dare, Swoon, and Farside. To my surprise, two of them were glitters! I don’t even remember the last time I tried a true glitter lipstick, but I’ve seen models and movie stars rocking that trend on runways and red carpets recently, so I guess that’s a thing now. It’s certainly a statement look for a special night out!
From Borghese.com:
“Vibrant, color-saturated lip crème. Multi-dimensional infusion of pigment and pearl for a fuller lip illusion. Shine, smooth, creamy, radiant and available in 12 tantalizing, color-rich shades.”
The packaging is weighty and well-crafted, these definitely feel like nice expensive bullets. I particularly like the ombre bronze-dipped design, it’s very different and makes these lippies stand out. I have one small gripe with the packaging – aside from the name sticker at the bottom, there’s no indicator what shade you’re holding in your hands, so if you own several of these, you would have to either remember what each of those looks like by their names, or look under the cap each time. It’s not really a big problem, after all, people still buy MAC lipsticks, most of which have no color indicators either.
Swoon deceptively looks like a yellowish shimmery nude in the bullet, but it’s actually an olive golden glitter bomb! It doesn’t play well with regular lipsticks as a base, and should be worn either alone, or on top of something dry and matte, like a lip pencil or a lip tint.
Farside looks like a bright fuchsia with pink and violet shimmers in the bullet, but in the swatches and on the lips it appears a little sheer. Still, it a nice statement color for Summer or for a night out.
Escape is best described as a bright coral with gold and pink glitter, and it looks the same on the lips as it does in the bullet. Classic with a twist, indeed!
Cusp is a medium mauve in the bullet, which on my skin shows up as brownish mauve with semi-matte creme finish. It would make a great your lips but better color for those with dark complexions.
Dare is a dark plummy rose with gold, pink, and bronze shimmers, but on the skin it looks lighter and rosier than in the bullet. It’s a stunner, and probably my favorite among the four shimmers!
Beyond looks like a deep cocoa brown in the tube, but on my skin it shows up as a sophisticated maroon burgundy with creamy finish and slight sheen. So trendy for Fall!
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
All six shades impressed me with their performance. The two cremes I got – Beyond and Cusp – felt like lip balms with intensely rich pigment, and lasted for hours without fading. The remaining four shimmers and glitters felt very gritty on the lips, but stayed on like champs. However, one downside of glitters is tough removal process, so when I washed off the swatches, I ended up with lots of glitter flecks all over my arm from Swoon and Escape, and if you ever had to remove glitter, you know it can be very scratchy and painful.
Do you need this? Considering how well all of these performed, I feel comfortable enough to recommend all six, but be careful when removing the glittery shades, maybe use one of those gentle cleansing balms or petroleum jelly to make sure you don’t scratch the skin or have glitter all over your face.
WHERE TO BUY: $25 USD for 0.13 oz. Available at Borghese, Lord & Taylor.

Dare is soo pretty!! I have some of these but have not tried them yet!!
I look forward to hearing about your experience! I wasn’t too impressed with their eyeliner, but the lipsticks and lip glosses are top notch 🙂
Oh my! These look gorgeous!
Aren’t they? I especially like the formula of those cremes, they feel like butter on the lips.
