It’s hard to imagine I used to subscribe to so many beauty boxes before! While I certainly downshifted a lot, Birchbox is one subscription service I can’t see myself dropping anytime soon. There are good months, bad months, and meh months, but at least I always enjoy the brands, which is more than I can say about my experience with Ipsy lately [I had finally canceled it by the way]. Alright, without further ado let’s take a peek inside my Birchbox December 2015.
HOW IT WORKS: At $10/month Birchbox subscribers receive 4-6 luxury samples and full-sized beauty products, tailored for them by a team of curators according to a personalized beauty profile. The value of each box usually ranges from at least $15 and can be as high as $70. Click here to join Birchbox.
Beauty Protector Protect & Oil is the latest release from the brand that created the best hair detangling spray in the history of the Universe. This new oil is designed to defend against UV rays, dryness, frizz, and heat damage from styling. It also has that same heavenly coconut-vanilla fragrance the spray is famous for. Yum!
Coastal Scents styleEYES Eyeshadow Palette in formalEYES was my monthly pick. There wasn’t much choice really, so I went for the colors I thought would look good on me. Coastal Scents eye shadows aren’t exactly creme de la creme of quality cosmetics, but I think you’ll get your money’s worth with them. My duo had two shades – a matte ivory, and a plummy metallic rose. The metallic was pretty nice, but the matte was disappointing. I probably won’t be using this duo because I already have other similar eye shadows in my collection with better formulas, but it was nice to try nonetheless.
Serge Normant Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray is really popular among celebrity hairstylists, and many fashion bloggers rave about it. I am personally an Oribe fan, but this one is quite nice too. Sometimes my locks desire that lived-in second day texture, and there aren’t many products that won’t weigh down my flat locks. Good news: this one didn’t!
I discovered this brand a couple months ago for the first time, and I’m obsessed with their body products! I was thrilled to see Soap & Paper Factory Shea Butter Hand Cream in my box, and it was as fabulous as I expected.
Strobing trend is still at large, and The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream is my newest toy. The tube is tiny, but it will last me a long time because I only need a tiny amount to achieve beautiful dewy glow. This liquid highlighter is super concentrated and can totally turn you into a disco ball if that’s what you want. The color is something between a rose gold and a champagne shimmer, a total stunner that looks even lovelier in daylight.
THE VERDICT: That highlighter tho! Seriously, I could have lived without Coastal Scents palette, but even after being forced to pick a color, I was still left with the highlighter, a fantastic hand cream, a fabulous hair oil, and a volumizing spray, so it’s all good.

I am getting my first Birchbox soon. Curious to see what I get and how it works. The hand cream and highlighter look especially nice
How exciting!! I hope you enjoy your goodies 🙂
Never heard of Beauty Crop before, love the look of that highlighter! Looks like a pretty decent mix of products here.
Me neither, and I wasn’t even sure what it was before I read the description. A fabulous highlighter though!
The Beauty Crop highlighter sounds very interesting and I would definitely like to try Serge Normant Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray.
Those two are definitely the highlights of my box 🙂
I would love the hand cream. I am totally addicted to hand creams these days!
Me too haha! I got one sitting in each one of my purses, in the car, and pretty much all over the house.
I want to try that Volumizing Spray!
It’s fantastic! Definitely one of my favorites, along with Oribe and Amika.
that highlighting cream is beautiful!!!! As is the Coastal Scents eyeshadows!! Maybe I should start back up. I discontinued when we moved….just too many things with the potential to not get forwarded. I miss it tho. Do they still have those great cardboard boxes? I used those for EVERYTHING.
Yes, they still have the cardboard boxes, and now they are always “dressed up” in fun patterns. So fun!
Very nice products, a good box!
I agree, this month I really lucked out!
I think the highlighting cream is the best thing in the box! I love the color.
I agree with you, definitely the star of the box! But I really like everything inside, too.
What a pretty highlighter!
It’s really gorgeous, the pictures don’t do it justice.
Sounds like you definitely got your money’s worth this month! There’s actually a lot of brands here that I haven’t heard of, so it would have been a good box for me to try.
That’s why I love Birchbox! Always something new to discover 🙂
That highlighter is everything!
I know right? Love wearing it 🙂
I got that highlighter in a So Susan bag some months ago but have to dig it out and try if it will work with my skintone. Well done on dropping some of your boxes. I now subscribe only to two (one is a gift from the SO).
You definitely need to check it out – this shade is gorgeous! And yeah, I canceled pretty much all of them except Birchbox and Graze.
Fun box this month for sure.
I loved it 🙂
I love Lighting Crew, it’s so gorgeous!
I agree, obsessed with it!
