Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar

“Seasoned rice vinegar is the awesome new condiment you never knew you needed! Manufactured from whole-grain rice in an all-natural, 200-year-old process, Nakano’s seasoned rice vinegar is delicious on salads or roasted veggies. It’s also gluten-free, fat-free, and contains only 20 calories per serving! Now that’s the kind of condiment we want on our kitchen table.”

My husband and I love asian food, and I cook with rice vinegar pretty much all the time, so it was great to get a spare bottle to keep in the pantry. What I didn’t realize is how good it is on salads! Seriously, instead of making a typical vinaigrette, I decided to omit the oil and use vinegar alone. Guess what? That was absolutely delicious, and I feel like the oil would have actually ruined the dish.

REBOOT Wellness Booster

“Beloved by Ironman athletes and regular folk alike, REBOOT is a powerful supplement that’s clinically proven to help your body protect itself against free radicals. Made from all-natural ingredients like dandelion, artichoke, and lemon, REBOOT’s herbal, non-GMO formula is designed to work with your body’s own natural processes to stimulate the production of antioxidants, aiding in recovery from intense workouts, stress, sun exposure, and more.”

I couldn’t figure out if this is a vitamin drink, or energy drink, or a cleanse, or all three together, so I just decided to take it and figure it out later. The taste can be described as fruity water with some grains mixed in, it wasn’t overly sweet or unpleasant, which is nice. I took it in the morning after having a really bad night’s sleep (I got only 4 hours that night), and it kept me awake, alert and energized all day. I tried drinking it again for two more days, and each time I felt like I could move mountains. I’ll definitely be buying more of this stuff!

Living Healthy World Flax N’ Chia Stix

“Chia seeds and flax seeds are nutritional powerhouses packed with good-for-you omega-3s (ALA, a specific kind of omega-3) and other substantial nutrients that can benefit your cardiovascular and overall health. Luckily, Living Healthy World has made it possible to have both of these body-boosters at the same time—in a conveniently portable little packet full of finely-ground seeds! One serving of Flax N’ Chia contains a whopping 3250 mgs of omega-3s, 3 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and all sorts of vitamins and minerals, including calcium, lignans, and antioxidants. These raw, vegan, and organic stix are the perfect thing to pop in your bag if you’re an on-the-go healthy eater—no refrigeration needed! Flax N’ Chia Stix are minimum fuss and maximum convenience, whether you’re at home or out and about.”

Honestly I haven’t gotten around to trying these yet, but I’ve been adding chia seeds to my salads and other food for a long time now, so these are very useful samples. They come in convenient pouches, so I can keep them in  my purse and add them to my dishes and drinks whenever I’m eating out to increase the nutritional value 🙂

Miracle Noodle Angel Hair Noodles

“These noodles live up to their name; They really are miraculous! Containing zero (yes, zero!) calories, gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan, these noodles are as versatile as they are convenient.  Made of a naturally water-soluble fiber called glucomannan (which can slow digestion and promote the feeling of fullness), Miracle Noodle Angel Hair Noodles are great for dieters and low-carb eaters. Even better? The noodles don’t have to be cooked, so they’re perfect as a portable meal for the office or a road trip.”

Holy smokes, ZERO calories, guys!! ZERO! I’m still in shock after reading the label, because I didn’t know things that look like pasta can have no calories in them. I’m saving it for my Mom’s next visit to surprise her, we’ll see if she can figure out what it is that I’m feeding her 🙂

Noosa Yoghurt Coupon

“You’ve never tasted yoghurt like this before. More of a decadent treat than the Greek yogurt you’re used to, Noosa yoghurt is inspired by two different cultures: Australia and Colorado. This yoghurt (Yes, that’s yoghurt with an H, like they spell it Down Under) is named after a beautiful spot on Australia’s sunny Gold Coast—but comes from a family-owned dairy farm near the Rocky Mountains. Made in small batches with a tangy-sweet taste from infused honey, Noosa yoghurt comes in to-die-for flavors like Passion Fruit, Strawberry-Rhubarb, and Mango. Your breakfast just got a lot sweeter.”

– from bestowed.com

I’ve been buying Noosa yogurts for at least half a year now, and my favorite flavor is Mango. It’s definitely rich and loaded with calories, but these are the most exquisite yogurts I’ve ever tried! Other flavors I tested are Strawberry-Rhubarb, Blueberry and Raspberry, but nothing beats the Mango 🙂

Mighty Leaf Sunburst Green Iced Tea Pouch

“This delicious green tea is light on the caffeine, but big on taste. You’ll love sipping a chilled glass of this refreshing citrus-flavored tea during the last few days of summer! Mighty Leaf Sunburst Iced Green Tea is hand-picked in the mountains of China and packaged in eco-friendly, specially-designed tea pouches. Plus, it’s free of artificial colorings and flavors. One pouch makes a full 64 oz or ½ gallon of tea, enough to quench your thirst for a few fun hours of front porch sitting or fill your travel mug on that morning commute.”

– from bestowed.com

I received a box of Mighty Leaf Peach Iced Tea in another subscription box a couple months ago, and re-purchased it at least twice since then, but I haven’t trued the plain green tea variety. It turned out a little bitter, so I mixed in some honey which improved the taste a lot.

Cascadian Farm Crunchy Oats and Honey Granola Bar

“Everyone loves a good granola bar, but it can often be hard to find one that’s not full of hard-to-pronounce additives and chemicals. Luckily, we’ve got Cascadian Farms’ yummy Crunchy Oats And Honey granola bar. With just seven simple ingredients, this organic bar is one granola you can feel good about eating, especially since they have zero trans fat, plus 4 grams of protein. As perfect for kids’ lunchboxes as they are for a gym bag or briefcase, Crunchy Oats And Honey bars are the best thing to have on hand when you need a healthy bite.”

– from bestowed.com

In theory this granola bar sounds heavenly, but in reality I was not a fan. The best part is that it’s a very healthy snack, with only seven simple ingredients in the recipe. I think I would have liked it more if it wasn’t so dry, and maybe if it had a little more honey in it.

SeaSnax Grab n’ Go Roasted Seaweed Snacks in Spicy Chipotle

“In the past few years, roasted seaweed has rapidly become one of our favorite snacks. Why? Because not only is it tasty and low-calorie, it’s packed with under-the-sea nutrients like omega-3s, zinc, and magnesium. Seasnax’s awesome flavors make it fun and easy to get the benefits of seaweed—and it’s way healthier than a bag of greasy potato chips. Seasnax seaweed is also gluten-free, Non GMO Project Verified, vegan and appropriate for people on a paleo diet. Seriously, what’s not to love?”

– from bestowed.com

These thin seaweed leaflets were too spicy for my liking, but my husband loved them, and he’s a very picky eater. I tried to shake off some of the seasoning just so I could eat a few leaflets, because I love the taste of seaweed, and how it expands and becomes nice and chewy in your month 🙂 So fun!!

Lundberg Family Farms Santa Fe Barbecue Rice Chips

“Gluten-free, non-GMO-certified, and perfectly portioned for a crunchy summer snack, Lundberg Family Farms’ Santa Fe Barbecue rice chips will satisfy any salt craving in a healthy way. Each single-serving bag has 26 to 27 grams of whole grains and zero artificial colorings or flavorings. Plus, we love that Lundberg Family Farms is a family-owned company that’s committed to sustainable farming. Their motto is “Leave the land better than you find it.” That’s a sentiment we can really get behind, especially since Lundberg’s products are so tasty!”

Okay… soooo…. the picture above is a stock picture… Well, that’s because I accidentally ate the whole bag right after I opened the box while I was checking out other contents. My husband was making oinking sounds at me, because it’s like I was so hungry I couldn’t even wait a few minutes to snap a picture and then eat the chips 🙂 BUT! Let me reassure you, that these are some of the yummiest rice chips I have eaten in a while. They’re perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and the barbecue taste oddly enough works so well with the original taste of rice chips. I would love to try the sea salt flavor too and see how it compares 🙂

The verdict: I thought this box was blazing amazing! It has everything from drinks and seasonings, to snacks and healthy supplements, and I discovered so many great new products. Judging by the August selection, I think this subscription has great potential and provides a good value for the money.
