It’s almost the end of the month, which means it’s time to review the latest Beauty Box 5 October 2016 box, which usually arrives at my doorstep around this time. CONTENTS:
1 // Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil – This highlighting pencil is probably one of the most loved out there, and we’ve seen it pop up in various subscription boxes over the years. This creamy crayon is ideal for lining your bottom lash line, highlighting the inner corner of the eye, cupid’s bow, and eyebrow arches. Basically, it’s a great multitasker for defining some areas of your face without using shimmery or glittery products.
2 // Real Her Moisturizing Lipstick – I received the color I Love Myself, how fun is that? We all could use a little pep talk from time to time 😉 I think the two-tone packaging is really cool and the color of the lipstick itself is super wearable. It’s the kind of peachy nude that can look great on a wide variety of skin tones, however, if it matches your skin too closely, it might wash you out.
3 // Amlactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream – Every Girl Boss knows the struggle of wearing heels from time to time, and while they sure make your legs look amazing, your feet definitely suffer afterwards. My feet right now are a flaky, rough mess, so I can totally use an intense treatment right now.
4 // Emery + Ivory Custom Nail Appliques – Oh wow, it’s been ages since I last used nail appliques, but I always love how fun they are to wear and how easy they are to apply. I received a very pretty set with burgundy and gold accents, and it’s just perfect for fall.
5 // Color Me Red – And finally, every Girl Boss needs a signature fragrance, to a perfume sample makes perfect sense here. Will Red become mine? I doubt it, but scents are so YMMV that I’m sure there will be plenty of people who can appreciate this spicy floral concoction.
BOTTOM LINE:
I think this box is Girl Boss approved for sure. From fleeky nail stickers, to amazing and flattering makeup products, there is something for everyone. I always like when Beauty Box 5 includes products from all price ranges, as well as from lesser known brands, so I’m always encouraged to get outside my comfort zone and try something new. My favorite sample this month is a tie between Chella pencil and the nail appliques, and my least favorite is definitely the fragrance, because it simply wasn’t my cup of tea.
