Beauty Bar Sample Society Review: September 2012

Hello everyone! Sorry that I’m super late on my box reviews this month, I’ve been too busy to even sit down and use the computer. Here is the review of my September 2012 Sample Society box which is probably my favorite one so far. As usual, the selection of products is great – cleanser, perfume, lip gloss, eyeliner and a face mask.

About Beauty Bar Sample Society:
Each month Sample Society will send its members 5 deluxe-sized samples from beauty brands like Murad, Sisley and Borghese along with a $15 gift code to redeem on a $50 purchase – when any product from the brands you’ve sampled is included in your order. As a bonus they will also send the member a one-year subscription to Allure magazine (a $12 value). This subscription costs $15/month and the value of your box will always be way above. Click here to join Sample Society.

1. Ahava Purifying Mud Mask (0.9oz) $6.00
I’ve always loved Ahava, they have consistently impressed me with their products whether it’s their signature Dead Sea bath salts or this Puridying mud mask. This mask is great at improving the microcirculation (hence the slight tingling sensation), removing the dirt and oil from the pores and tightening them and I think it also evens out my skin tone. This is definitely one of my top favorite purifying masks along with Just Neem and Elemental Herbology analogs.

2. Borghese B Gloss in Fiore (0.16oz) $14.23
I’d like to say that this is a very flattering shade of peachy pink, I think it will look great on any complexion. It feels very nice on the lips, kind of like a liquid lip butter, and smells like sweet almond oil. I don’t think I will purchase a full-size even though I love the product and the color, but I’m definitely going to recommend it to my friends and family.

3. CellCeuticals Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser (2oz) $10.44
It foams pretty well and my skin felt very soft and hydrated afterwards. I’ve only gotten this kind of effect from the milky lotiony no-rinse cleansers before so I’m surprised at how well CS managed to make it so moisturizing with this clear foamy wash-off cleanser. This sample will last me quite a while and we’ll see then if I want to get a full size.

4. Diptyque in Vetyverio (0.06oz) $2.40
Well that was a pretty long intro for such a small sample but it’s all worth it. Diptyque is famous for their scented candles and room sprays and recently branched out to make perfumes as well. The scents are always very complex and sophisticated and Veryverio wasn’t an exception. It’s very classy and intriguing and can be worn by men and women. It’s on my Christmas wish list this year 🙂

5. Stila Cosmetics Smudge Crayon Waterproof Primer + Shadow + Liner in Black (0.02oz) – $11.00
I’m not really an eyeliner person but at least I received a Black one so it would be easier to find someone to give it to. I swatched it lightly and from what I could see it goes on very smoothly and I had trouble taking it off my skin which also means that it will stay on all day.
