5 Ways To Feel Good Right Now

We get it, you’re having a bad day and nothing is going according to plan. Maybe you have a headache, maybe you’re stuck on a project, or maybe you’re dreading the meeting with an unpleasant person; no matter what the problem is there are always ways to feel good immediately. Here are my personal top five!

Don’t underestimate the power of a smile! Recent research uncovered that even a forced smile will make you feel good. it’s even better if you can manage to squeeze out a laugh, which will prompt your brain to release endorphins, reducing anxiety and relieving the tension.

2. Find something green and look at it for a bit. A tree outside, a picture of a tropical forest on your computer, maybe even a plant in the office corner – anything green will do. Green color symbolizes happiness, and people constantly report feeling good in rooms with green wall paint.

3. Try decluttering! How can cleaning possibly make one feel better, right? Actually it can! Not only will it boost productivity if you’re taking 5 minutes to tidy up your office desk or one-two drawers at home, it will also make you feel a sense of accomplishment.

4. Listen to your favorite happy song, and sing along if you can. There are so many great ones to choose from, but this one, this one, and this one are my go-tos. Yep, all three are overplayed and totally cheesy, but they always make me feel good 🙂

5. Change into something comfy if you can; put on those cozy jammies, throw on some fluffy socks, a sweater, or your favorite super-soft T-shirt.
