Mani Monday: Zoya “Kristen” & Essie “Cascade Cool”

It’s been a few weeks since I did a Mani Monday post so I wanted to make something a little special and outside of my comfort zone.

This week I wanted to try doing chevron nails for the first time and of course my first attempt wasn’t as blazing amazing as I envisioned but I definitely learned a lot 🙂

For my two colors I chose Zoya Kristen as a base color and Essie Cascade Cool on top finished with Color Club matte top coat.

Step 1: 
I painted the nails with Zoya Kristen and let them set overnight. Totally smudged them here and there but it doesn’t matter because it’s a base coat.

Step 2:
I put these fool-proof Missha stickers on and painted the whole nail with Essie Cascade Cool.

Step 3:
While I was taking these pictures the polish solidified a bit (which is bad by the way) and my pseudo-chevron ended up looking like this 🙁 If you want to repeat this nail look make sure to remove the nail strips immediately after painting.

Step 4:
After cleaning up the edges I added two more coats of Color Club matte top coat to finish this look. The end result wasn’t too great but not too terrible either, and the next time I do it it will be better 🙂
