Juniper Box Review: March 2013

I think I finally found my favorite time-of-the-month subscription so I’m not even planning on trying any others anytime soon. Juniper proved themselves as a fantastic business that provides top notch customer service and high quality products without any hassle or shipping delays.

This month’s box contents are focused on celebrating the International Women’s Day which is observed worldwide on March 8th. In order to support the women entrepreneurs all treats included in the March box were crafted by women-started companies.

About Juniper:
Juniper is a tampons and treats subscription aimed at redefining the monthly period experience for women. Juniper wants to turn a woman’s period each month from a cause of stress into an occasion for pampering. Every cycle, a Juniper package is delivered to the subscriber before her period begins. For $28/month subscribers are sent a personalized selection of tampons and other backup protection products, as well as hand-picked gourmet treats like artisan chocolates and herbal teas. If you mention my name – Anastasia Smith – on the last page when you check out we will both get one free box. Here’s an example of what the page will look like. Thank you and have a fabulous time of the month!

First of all, wow, since I got ten girls to sign up using my referral I will now be getting ten free months of Juniper boxes! Thank you so much for that and I hope you all enjoyed your introductory boxes as much as I enjoy mine. I’m planning a giveaway to give back but I’m not sure when I’m going to do it yet since I’m about to move to a new place, again. I decided that instead of one big prize I would rather have several smaller ones so there are more winners 🙂 So there you go, something to look forward to in the upcoming weeks!

Now for those of you that are new to Juniper, you can read the pros and cons of this subscription in my inaugural box review by clicking here. Enjoy!

J&M Original Cheese Straws
J&M Foods was found over 20 years ago by Jamie Parham with the help of her two daughters. Inspired by the 100-year-old family recipe, the company continues to make the best cheese straws and cookies and introducing new products. Never tried cheese straws before so I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but I found them to be surprisingly cheesy and a little bit spicy. I’m usually not a fan of spicy food but these had just the right amount to win me over 🙂

Anna’s Honey Straws in Peach, Clover & Apple and Teatulia Tea Pyramids in Peppermint, Ginger & Lemongrass
I actually buy Teatulia teas, Tulsi infusion being my favorite, and they have some of the best blends out there so I’m looking forward to trying these three. And of course the honey sticks serve as the perfect addition!

BT McElrath Salty Dog Bites
Dark chocolate with sea salt is one of my favorite varieties, and BT McElrath didn’t disappoint. With just the right amount of saltiness one bite-sized square could satisfy my sweet cravings. Also, the flavor sounds like a pirate’s name 🙂 Yarrrrrr!

Sante Sweet & Spicy Pecans
Sante’s story started in the kitchen when the founder Sara Tidhar had to suddenly become a single mom. Her son gave her an idea to start selling the nuts their family loves so much, and using the recipe and the special roasting techniques that Sara learned from her grandmother, she started selling them to cafes in Silicone Valley. And now, six years later Sante is a successful business fulfilling thousands of orders. This story really makes you feel that anything is possible! I hope I didn’t bore you, I just really felt connected to the founder and wanted to give her a big hug and tell her that I love the products she makes 🙂 These pecans were truly delicious!

Sea + Cane Cabernet Sauvignon Caramels
The bag was indeed very cute and the caramels were delightfully sweet. In fact these were probably the best caramels I have tried in my life so I really have to have more now 🙂

The Girly Goodies
Everything was just as I ordered and on-time, no surprises there. And a special thanks goes to my Juniper BFF Lynn (the founder) for finding a very specific product that they didn’t carry, it was my must-have staple for many years and works like magic. As always, everything was packaged in discreet opaque pouches and containers which is a great thing if you don’t feel comfortable knowing that someone might see your feminine products.
