A girl can never have too many neutral lipsticks, so when I randomly stumbled upon Givenchy Le Rouge Beige Plume while browsing Sephora.com, I knew I had to get it, and a couple days later [yay for Sephora Flash!] it was staring at me in all its peachy creamy glory.
First things first: I have a weakness for pretty packaging, and Givenchy lippies always seem to make my best-dressed list. Each silver bullet is covered in soft black lambskin leather and adorned with Givenchy logo imprint at the top. All Limited Edition shades feature the same overall design of the bullet, but with different leather covers [burgundy, silver flecks etc]. Although these babies are fingerprint magnets, I didn’t think those finger marks were very noticeable, like they would be with gold-toned packaging.
Beige Plume color is probably best described as a warm peachy beige, with ultra-creamy formula and semi-matte finish. It offers medium to full pigmentation, doesn’t bleed, and makes my lips look fuller and more even. The longevity on me is longer than most moisturizing lipsticks, but I still have to reapply at least twice throughout the day if I want the color to last from AM to PM. This buttery formula doesn’t leave a stain on the lips, so once wiped away, it’s off for good.
On my pale lips the lipstick shows up almost true to color, but on someone with more pigmented lips it might show up slightly deeper. Givenchy Le Rouge has the creamiest and silkiest formula, and I just wish these lipsticks were cheaper so I could buy the whole range.
I always feel guilty when I review something, and then it immediately sells out, so my post becomes totally useless. Luckily, Beige Plume is part of Givenchy’s permanent collection, and also a very popular shade, so chances are it isn’t getting discontinued anytime soon and you all have all the time in the world to decide if you want to try it, too.
PURCHASE: $36 USD for 0.12 oz. Available at Sephora, Barneys New York, Net-a-Porter.
