Last week I introduced you to Bunny Bubble Bar, which became one of my favorite LUSH products; and today I’m sharing my thoughts on Bunch of Carrots, which is officially joining the ranks of my least favorite products, and I’m certain I will never buy it again. The 2014 Limited Edition Easter Collection includes eight products: Brightside bubble bath, Bunch of Carrots bubble bath, Carrot soap, Bunny bubble bath, The Immaculate Eggception bath bombs in Pink and Yellow, Fluffy Egg bath bomb, and Golden Egg bath bomb/melt. There are also two new Limited Edition gifts: Funny Bunny, and Carrot.
LUSH says Bunch of Carrots Bubble Bar contains “buchu oil, that gives this bubble bar its fruity, blackcurrant fragrance, as well as sweet lemon oil and bergamot oil.” I was hoping it would smell like carrots, but unfortunately, it doesn’t.
To use, LUSH recommends taking a single carrot and holding it under the running water until it produces enough bubbles and turns your water a fun tangerine color. Each carrot in the bunch is good for at least two baths, making Bunch of Carrots one of the cheapest “dollar per bath” LUSH products, at $2.15 per bath. Despite the good value, I found that half a carrot doesn’t produce nearly as many bubbles as I would like [they also didn’t last very long], and the fragrance is very faint. I buy LUSH products mainly for their strong fragrances, and it was very disappointing to feel like I could have gotten the same effect if I used cheap liquid bubble bath.
The fragrance didn’t linger on the skin, nor did it moisturize my skin, like most LUSH bath products do. I will be a bit harsh here and say that Bunch of Carrots for me personally was a waste of money, and I most likely won’t buy it again. I’m glad that LUSH is pretty consistent with delivering great products, so duds like this happen very rarely in my experience. The good part is that this bubble bar leaves almost no mess, so the cleanup is very basic and quick.
THE VERDICT
Bunch of Carrots – good value for the money, but the performance was lackluster. It didn’t produce enough bubbles, the fragrance was very weak, and it didn’t linger on the skin.
