Rose Rosé: A Quick Mocktail for Girlies Who Enjoy Wine

I swear, mocktail recipes can be so complicated sometimes, but they don’t have to be. How do you feel about a glass of bubbly rosé that tastes like roses? Today I’m sharing this simple two-step mix and the flavor will blow your mind!

First of all, off the top of your head, think of a drink made with wine. I could only remember mulled wine and maybe Sangria? Wine must not be very popular in mixed drinks and most people I know, including myself, would typically drink it by the glass. A few weeks ago I had an opportunity to try some alcohol-free rosé and was so impressed with its bright, bold flavor, that I decided to play with it a little bit more and found a perfect pairing to make those notes shine even brighter.

For this garden party inspired mocktail, I used only products: Abstinence Spirits Cape Floral and Oddbird Sparkling Rosé.

You might be familiar with Abstinence Spirits already, which quickly became one of my go-to brands for alcohol-free spirits. I use them in most of my mocktails and love the variety of flavors. Inspired by the flora of Cape Fynbos, Cape Floral highlights the beauty of the indigenous Cape Rose Geranium by masterfully framing it with sappy juniper, grassy and sweet angelica root, spicy coriander, and a zesty hint of lemon. To my untrained nose, this spirit smells just like a rose garden, with flowers, leaves, and earth after the rain. If you want to learn more about Abstinence Spirits, I introduced the company in a previous blog post here.

Oddbird, however, is a new-to-me brand so I did some Googling to learn about their origins and mission. This Scandinavian company was started in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, a former therapist and social worker who witnessed firsthand how alcohol-related issues can negatively impact families, social relationships, and the health of her clients. In response, Moa launched Oddbird to inspire a transformative shift in society and challenge the status quo by introducing premium alcohol-free drinks, making the choice feel like a treat, not a punishment. And be honest, how cute is this bottle? Elegant tinted glass, minimal label and logos, real cork – the presentation is chef’s kiss and everything about the design feels like it’s a luxury product. The flavor is something your friends will tell their friends about and is not lacking in any way, despite being fully liberated from alcohol. I’ve never tasted alcohol-free wine like this before, it’s truly remarkable. You can find Sparkling Rosé and other Oddbird wines at The Zero Proof.

Ingredients (for 1 mocktail):

Instructions:

  1. Pour Abstinence Spirits Cape Floral in a tall wine glass, top with Oddbird Sparkling Rosé, and sip away!
  2. Best served chilled.

Easy, right? Try this mocktail next time you’re hosting your girlies for brunch, or treat yourself on a relaxed day in!
