Empties vol. 53
Typically, I have a lot more empties to share, but I’ve been kind of jumping from product to product lately and didn’t have a chance to finish too many. However, I finally hit pan on some of my all-time favorites, and my final thoughts on them pretty much remain unchanged. I raved about them in numerous favorites posts and social media features, so seeing these empty jars feels like the end of an era. The three I’m sharing today are all from famous Korean brands, and – spoiler alert! – I loved all three of these products.
SKINCARE:
1 // Innisfree Youth Enhancing Serum with Black Tea ($34) – Very much reminds me of Fresh black tea serum but at half the cost. There are no resurfacing actives in this formula (unless niacinamide counts) but it was still a worthwhile addition to my routine because it felt very soothing and helped maintain a healthy skin barrier. Botanical antioxidants were another selling point for me personally. Despite the lack of conclusive double blind studies, I love topical antioxidants! Just from my own limited experience, I feel like they subtly enhance the overall effectiveness of my routine, and that’s enough for me.
Repurchase? No, I think it was discontinued. 4/5
2 // Amorepacific Vintage Single Extract Essence ($95 – cheaper dupe here) – While it’s called an essence, I treat it more as a toner. The formula is alcohol-free so it doesn’t bother my skin even when it’s in an irritated state. It’s perfect for a quick boost of hydration and antioxidants, and works even for sensitive skin. I finished my 4th bottle and even though I loved it, I’m ready to try something new.
Repurchase? No. But I repurchased it several times in the past, and it was excellent. 5/5
3 // Sulwhasoo Timetreasure Invigorating Sleeping Mask* ($200) – It took me a very long time to finish this massive jar, but it’s finally empty! This was probably one of my all-time favorite k-beauty products because it made my skin look so glowing and full of life! The effect is hard to describe, it’s like every time I put it on at night, next morning my face looks like it went on vacation and got 10 uninterrupted hours of sleep, a massage, a shopping spree, and a tea party with bestie. There are no strong actives here so you could potentially even use it with tret. Most of the highlighted ingredients can be described as soothing, repairing, or free radical scavengers which all play nicely with your favorite “active” night serum.
Repurchase? Maybe in the future. Currently, no plans to get another jar because I want to explore other options. 5/5
Have you tried either of these? What’s your favorite skincare product that you recently finished?
