OPI Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection Swatches & Review
I haven’t featured nail polish in a while because, frankly, I kind of lost interest in nail art lately, but my feelings have changed and I’m having fun with bright nail colors again. OPI recently sent me six shades from their new limited edition Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection and I thought I’d share them here because they are all so pretty!
OPI Infinite Shine Bee Unapologetic swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Bee Unapologetic ($13) is a bright lemon yellow nail polish with lots of yellow shimmer. It was opaque right off the bat and didn’t necessarily need another coat, but I feel like it just looks richer with 2 coats. It sets with a semi-matte shimmery finish and a lightly textured feel.
OPI Infinite Shine Mango for It swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Mango for It ($13) is a bright orange nail polish with golden shimmer. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and sets with a semi-matte finish. The formula is richly pigmented and you can easily get away with wearing just one coat.
OPI Infinite Shine Make Rainbows swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Make Rainbows ($13) is a bright lime green nail polish with ultra fine aqua blue shimmer. It’s slightly less pigmented so you will need two coats or more to achieve even coverage. It sets with a beautiful satin finish.
OPI Infinite Shine Exercise Your Brights swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Exercise Your Brights ($13) is a hot Barbie pink nail polish with pink glitter. It’s not a one-coater, but two coats should be sufficient to get even coverage. Like the previous shades, it sets with a semi-matte, lightly textured finish.
OPI Infinite Shine Feel Bluetiful swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Feel Bluetiful ($13) – My favorite of the six, this is a stunning turquoise with lots of golden shimmer. It’s fully opaque after two coats, although even one thick coat could be sufficient to achieve full coverage. It sets with with a slightly textured semi-matte finish.
OPI Infinite Shine Go to Grape Lengths swatch
OPI Infinite Shine Go to Grape Lengths ($13) Finally, my least favorite of the six, this is a grape purple nail polish with blue shimmer. I really like the color but wasn’t a fan of the formula, which was streaky and uneven after 2 coats, so you might need 3 or more for perfect coverage. Like the rest of the group, it set with a semi-matte finish.
BOTTOM LINE:
Overall, these are gorgeous and can be worn even without a top coat, as they dry quickly, with an even, semi-matte finish [even the sparkles are mattified.] The only shade that was noticeably worse in terms of formula is the purple one, Go to Grape Lengths. It went on slightly unevenly and dried down with pigment “holes”, calling for more layers than necessary to even it out.
