I haven’t blogged about Beauty Box 5 in a while, or at least it feels that way. Things were just so hectic and crazy, I felt that I was always short on time, and gave priority to other content. Honestly, I just didn’t have my shit together. Something happened in real life that got me all shaken and put my mind out of balance, and now I am finally getting the pieces of my sanity back. In March, the curators are encouraging us to go bigger, bolder, and fluffier with a themed box that focuses on one of our best features – the eyes. In it, the subscribers received five products to achieve glamorous eye looks, and four of them were full-sized!
HOW IT WORKS:
For $12/month subscribers will receive a box filled with a carefully selected mixture of five travel-sized, deluxe-sized and full-sized cosmetic products from luxury brands, commonly known brands, niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands. Aimed at introducing women to new cosmetic products and educating them on best practices, Beauty Box 5 scours the market to find the best products for your lifestyle. Click here to subscribe.
CONTENTS:
1 // Sweep False Lashes – It’s crazy to me that nowadays false lashes are a normal thing! I remember, growing up the only time someone would wear them was on a wedding day, for drama plays, dance competitions, and maybe for prom. Actresses wore them in the movies, and well, of course there were all those mascara commercials where the models all wore them to make you think this is what your lashes would look like if you bought a tube. But regular girls didn’t feel like they had to glam it up every day. It’s wild how things have changed, isn’t it? This makes me feel so old, haha 🙂 Well, I personally think that eyes are my best feature, so I love to play them up with makeup, including false lashes. I don’t wear them often, but when I do, I pick the ones that look natural. These falsies from Sweep are right on the edge of my comfort zone, but I love them. I can see myself wearing them a lot in the future after I trim them a little bit, since they’re too long for my lids.
2 // Sweep Lash Helper – Personally, I have no problems applying false lashes the traditional way, but I can see how this tool can be helpful to anyone that struggles with the application. Usually, these are made with plastic, so this metal tool stands out from the crowd. It feels nice and hefty in my hand, and it appears to be pretty good quality, too.
3 // Manna Kadar Lash Primer – It’s been a while since I last used a lash primer, especially a clear one. These days I would either just put on an extra layer of mascara, or apply a white primer to extend my lashes and give them thickness. I will, however, use this primer to build up my brow volume and also to seal in the brow gel. I have Anastasia brow gel that pretty much does this same exact thing, and I am almost out, so this lash primer came at the perfect time.
4 // Bellapierre Cosmetics Cosmetic Glitter – I know glitter is on trend right now, but I am just not a glitter person. I would maybe use it if I went to a festival, or to a party where that would be appropriate, but normally I don’t wear it at all. With that said, I think this neutral iridescent glitter is as neutral as glitter goes. It has a grayish silver base, which is basically the “nude” color of glitters.
5 // Prestige Cosmetics True Metals Eyeshadow – I tried Prestige Cosmetics eyeshadows in the past, and their shimmers were my favorite from the range: buttery, pigmented, and very foil-like when applied wet. I received this golden color that would work really well in a sunset-inspired halo smoky eye look as the center point of the lid. As you may know, I recently did a major destash of my makeup collection, so I am still deciding if I should keep this one or not. I know how I can use it, but I don’t know if I would use it often enough to justify keeping it in my drawer, if that makes sense. For now, I am quite enjoying my pared down collection, and I am actually using everything I own!
BOTTOM LINE:
This was a great box for anyone who loves a dramatic eye look, or wants to try creating one. I think the best part of it for me was the set of false eyelashes, because their shape is exactly what I like to wear. The lash tool is nice to have, too, even though I won’t be using it on myself. Sometimes I do makeup for my aunts and in-laws, and they are all hardcore blinkers, to the point where I just tell them to do their own mascara. This tool would be great to have on hand if I ever need to apply falsies on someone else, so I don’t have to get my fingers that close to their eyes. Overall, I think Beauty Box 5 March 2017 box was a great one, with rough retail value of $60. Not too shabby, eh?

Great box! I would love these goodies. BB5 seldom disappoints!
Agreed, this was a good box! For me BB5 boxes can be a hit or a miss, and this one was very nice 🙂
I need to pick up a lash tool like this, I think that it would make applying falsies easier, as it is something I struggle with.
I think it would help a lot, especially if you feel like you lack precision because your fingers are constantly in the way.
I am terrible at applying false lashes–don’t know if the tool would help me or not, I’m pretty helpless!
I think it might! It creates more distance so you can see what you’re doing more clearly without having fingers up in your eyes.
Ha, I totally relate to what you said about lashes!!! Also I stink at applying them. They always lift. I wore a pair to a wedding in January and I ripped them off before the night was through lol
Haha, that’s quite a story! I’m alright at applying lashes, but most of them always look too heavy on me. It’s hard to find the ones I like 🙂
Great box. The only thing I wouldn’t want is the glitter. I could use a tool like the lash helper so I’d try that for sure.
Glitter is not my thing either, but I know it’s very popular right now.
that gold eyeshadow is amazing
It’s beautiful, but unfortunately, i know I won’t use it much so it will be given away 🙂
You gotta keep that golden eyeshadow! It is soooo pretty- otherwise I take it! 😉
I can’t keep it, unfortunately 🙂 The whole point of my destash was to get rid of things I know I won’t be using often.
