If you still remember this review from a few months back, you already know how excited I was to discover Cratejoy, which is basically a marketplace with a wide variety of subscription boxes. There is a box for everything these days, and it sure looks like Cratejoy gathered the best of them all in one place. Of course, I am partial to their beauty box selection [especially Korean beauty!], and Mask Box was my latest discovery, thanks to Erin, who kindly sent me one to try.
HOW IT WORKS:
Starting at just $10/month Mask Box subscribers receive carefully selected Korean sheet masks from mainstream and hard to find local brands. The box is curated using masks currently popular in Korea and offers an authentic kbeauty experience. If you love sheet masks and exclusive regional beauty products, this box is for you! Click here to check it out.
CONTENTS:
Mask Box can be personalized to address your biggest skin concerns, so your package might be different from someone else’s. I am not sure which box variety I got, but based on the products inside I would say it’s probably the Hydration box. I received the following three masks, and all of them were completely new to me.
1 // LUS Lovely Your Skin Cucumber Essence Mask – This fairly simple sheet mask looks very similar to masks Korean women use every day as part of their skincare routine. The liquid contains cucumber extract that soothes and hydrates the skin.
2 // L’Affair Aqua Skin Renewal Mask – This three step mask contains additional sachets with a cleanser and an ampoule, so it’s basically a quick beauty routine in a bag. I didn’t use the cleanser pouch because most Korean cleansers tend to be too stripping for my skin, but I enjoyed the ampoule and the mask sheet itself. The essence contains multiple botanical extracts that brighten and moisturize the skin, and the sheet material adhered to my face really well, ensuring the best absorption.
3 // Yumei Water Glow Skin Renewal Facial Mask – This mask contains several brightening ingredients that help reduce the appearance of skin discolorations with regular use. I also spotted Hyaluronic Acid high up on the list, so this is not only a brightening mask, but also a hydrating one. I have not used it yet, but I imagine I will like it as much as I did the previous one.
I think at $10 shipped, getting a package with authentic Korean sheet masks is a pretty good deal, considering that many of them run several bucks a piece. If you love the idea, you might also want to check out other kbeauty boxes currently available at Cratejoy.
Jini Beauty – I love the assortment of brands in the boxes and how you can customize them by skin type. I tried their Sensitive/Troubled box variety earlier this year and was super impressed with the contents! I am still using the sleeping mask and the sunscreen every day, they’ve become my daily staples.
BomiBox – This is a new kbeauty subscription on the market, but I already heard a lot of good things about their inaugural box. Every month subscribers will receive 8 full-sized and deluxe size products from some of the best Korean beauty brands.
Beauteque Monthly has two options to choose from: Mask Maven with just the masks and BB Bag with an assortment of Korean beauty products. This subscription has been out for a while and pretty much all Kbeauty bloggers have tried it at some point.
Best Face Forward Masks is another mask-only beauty box, and there are some interesting offerings that I haven’t seen in other beauty boxes. Definitely worth checking out!
ABOUT CRATEJOY:
If Korean beauty boxes are not your thing, Cratejoy has lots of other options available. There are fandom boxes like The Fan Empire, Geekmebox, and Comicboxer, pet subscription boxes for your furbabies, home DIY subscriptions, and many others. With Holidays coming up, a lot of these companies will be offering discounted plans for gift subscriptions and one time boxes. I don’t know about you, but those are the deals I definitely don’t want to miss. I don’t have any plans on gifting subscriptions this year, but I want to pick up a couple for myself if there is a good coupon available. By the way, Cratejoy made this super helpful gift guide to help you guys navigate through dozens of available subscription services on their website and find the very best one for your giftee. Check it out here!

Cratejoy graciously provided an opportunity for one of my readers to win a subscription bundle, just in time for the holidays. All you have to do is enter a valid email address, then make and share a wishlist for a chance to win a bundle from your list. Good luck!

I must check out Cratejoy, it’s such a great concept! Right now I seem to have my own box of masks but I’d like to see what else they have.
OMG there are so many boxes! I NEED THEM ALL! So cool!

I’ve been waiting for a mask only box! This sounds awesome!
Oh I’m interested to try this
This sounds like a must have for me! You know how much I love skincare.
Ooh, those look delightful!
Oh my gosh how fun! I’m picky about skincare, but for some reason, I’ll always try face masks. These boxes sound great 🙂
I love masks.
I’ve been “observing” Bomibox since last month – their product card reminds me of how Memebox used to be in the “golden era”. Let’s see if they sustain – I’ll take the plunge!
These sound awesome!
There are so many exciting boxes, but my favorite is the “my lemon crate” box.
I’d be most excited to receive an Asian beauty box! I’ve tried a few Korean beauty products, mostly masks. Most companies do their research and make products that are truly beneficial to skin, like not containing alcohol.
Cratejoy sounds like the perfect option for me since there’s so many options in one place.
Oh boy, I love subscription boxes! There’s so many boxes I’d like to try but at the top of my list are the Melbourne Box and the Cottage Crate, because I love getting things from places I haven’t been.
I like this mask
Wow, there are so many subscrptions boxes. I could spend all day just looking through them. There are so many that fit my family perfectly. I love the We Quilt Kits and the FX Crate if I had to choose. Thanks for sharing all these goodies with us.
