HASK Charcoal Purifying Hair Care Collection

As someone with combination skin, I am very much familiar with the purifying qualities of charcoal. It works wonders for getting the dirt out of my pores, but I never even thought about using it on my scalp [which also has combination skin] until I tried products from HASK Charcoal With Citrus Oil collection. Designed to thoroughly cleanse and clarify, this trio is going to be an oily hair’s best friend.

The charcoal sourced from coconut shells in the Philippines acts as a magnet for impurities and gently exfoliates the strands from dead skin, excess oil, and product buildup. The formula is enriched with Vitamin C that offers antioxidant properties and also gives the hair that shiny healthy appearance. I actually have a standalone citrus rinse product that I am testing right now, but using HASK Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo & Conditioner gives me the same result.

As you know, I recently chopped off about 10″ of my hair, so I had to start using completely different hair products. The order I use them changed as well: the main difference is applying conditioner prior to shampoo to keep my baby fine strands from being weighed down. Normally my hair is pretty limp and flat, but after learning this clever trick from some celebrity hairstylist interview, it looks fuller and bouncier than before.

I rarely say this [because I rarely care], but HASK Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo & Conditioner actually look really cool! The pearly gray base contains visible little flecks of charcoal swimming in it [think poppy seeds in a coffee cake], that contrast with a bright citrus aroma. I love all things citrus, especially in the morning, because this fresh zesty fragrance helps me wake up and stay focused.

I was also sent a packet of Purifying Deep Conditioner to try. I originally fell in love with the brand after getting one of these conditioner packs in a beauty subscription box, and I’m still a fan. This particular deep conditioner felt more lightweight than the others I tried, but it still deeply nourished my hair and made it feel silky soft.

HASK haircare is cruelty-free and formulated without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors.

BOTTOM LINE:

I am loving this collection so far! Charcoal flecks wash off without a trace, absorbing all of the dirt and leaving my hair clean and shiny. But most importantly, my scalp that tends to get oily in the summer seems to be in much better shape these days. I would definitely recommend this line to anyone with fine limp hair that gets weighed down by oils and product buildup as a great affordable alternative to high end products.

You can purchase HASK Charcoal With Citrus Oil collection at HASK and Ulta.

I’m learning so much about the different products from Hask. This line is one I’d have loved years ago when my scalp was oily.

I’ve only tried the Hask deep condish masks and love them. The charcoal line sounds great for flaky scalps.
