Say whaat? That’s right, Amazon now offers sample boxes! I first found out about them through Nouveau Cheap, and thanks to the heads up on her site purchased three different boxes that are relevant to my interests. The first one that arrived was my Amazon Suds Sample Box [$7.99, available here], that includes samples of house cleaning essentials. But wait, here’s where things get interesting…
Amazon Suds Sample Box was advertised to contain 8 or more samples, based on availability. The thing is, when you think samples, you picture travel-sized goodies, right? What I [and other people who shared their unboxings on Instagram] received was a hefty box filled with retail-sized goodies, and only one of them was a single-use squeeze pack. But wait, there’s more! The box retails for $7.99, which is refunded to your account within 7 days of shipment in the form of Amazon credit, valid on specific items in Amazon store, including the products featured in the box. If you plan to use that credit, the box is essentially free! I already know what I will be buying with mine, but before I tell you what it is let’s take a closer look at the contents.
My box included 9 different products:
- Finish Powerball Tabs Max in 1 – 17ct resealable bag
- Cascade Platinum Actionpacs – 8ct resealable bag
- Gain Fireworks In-Wash Original Scent Booster – full sized!
- Gain Flings Original Laundry Detergent Pacs – 5ct resealable bag
- Wisk Deep Clean Liquid Laundry Detergent – 1 load sample
- Planet 2X Ultra Laundry Detergent, Unscented – 4 fl. oz., 2 load sample
- Planet All Purpose Spray Cleaner – 4 fl. oz. travel size
- Seventh Generation Hand Wash, Mandarin Orange & Grapefruit – full sized!
- J.R. Watkins Natural Liquid Hand Soap, Coconut – 1 use squeeze pack
I am already a huge fan of Cascade Platinum Actionpacs, so I am thrilled to receive 8 more to add to my box. They work really well for my super old rental dishwasher that doesn’t really clean dishes all that well. Sometimes I would get hard crumbs stuck to the glasses when using other dishwashing products, and so far I had zero issues with these. So naturally, that’s what I will use my Amazon credit on, because right now they offer $5 off coupon for Subscribe & Save customers. It’s always fun to try something new from Seventh Generation, too. I’m a big fan of the brand, and currently use their lavender dish soap, which I also order from Amazon, whenever I need to do dishes by hand.
The box looks amazing, but there’s a catch. At this time it’s only available to Amazon Prime members, and it’s just another incentive to sign up for the service, or a perk for already being a member, if you like. While I don’t necessarily agree with this exclusivity, I think the boxes currently offered all look fantastic, and if you have Prime there’s no reason not to check them out. I have two more boxes on the way, but at the time of this post there were nine boxes available. You can see the full list here. They even have a beauty box!
Are you a member of Amazon Prime? Would you be interested in any of the available sample boxes? Have you tried any of the products from Amazon Suds Sample Box? Let me know in the comments below!

I just signed up for Prime recently, and for $7.99 this box is indeed a bargain. I think I’ll try it!
Not available. Such a good deal, it must have sold out immediately
Hi Allison! It’s such a great deal, indeed, and hopefully Amazon restocks it (they have in the past). I see that they currently have 4 boxes left to choose from, and all the good ones are gone 🙁 Well, the syrup one seems interesting, but I’m perfectly content with my one and only caramel syrup that i use once in a blue moon haha 🙂
That is a GREAT box! Another reason I need to sign up for Prime.
Definitely a good reason 🙂
Seventh Generation is one of my favorite cruelty free brands
I love their household products 🙂
I should definitely buy this. I read about it too but didn’t know if I’d use the items. The Seventh Generation would be my favorite.
I’ve been using it and it’s a really nice & gentle hand wash. You should definitely get it!
This is a great idea! Amazing price, and I love that you get the whole thing back as store credit.
Right? It’s like getting a box for free 🙂
I have amazon prime, and I didn’t know about this box. My family can definitely use a lot of the products you’ve received, especially the detergent.
There are several boxes to choose from, including snack and beauty/grooming boxes. I love these, and I hope Amazon keeps doing them.
I didn’t know about this box. If I do go Prime, I’ll look in to it.
There are several to choose from, including beauty and food boxes 🙂
WOW! I use A LOT of those products, that is a great price!
Same, that’s basically my pantry right there haha 🙂 Awesome deal, and very practical.
This sounds really interesting!
I was super excited when I found out about these deals 🙂
This is so neat, I had no idea they were doing this!
Right? That’s a brilliant idea!
