Vita Liberata is a front runner when it comes to self-tanning products that don’t make me look like an oompa-loompa. That’s actually one of the main reasons why I rarely use self-tanners in the first place: my fair skin is unforgiving to any mistakes and splotches. Let’s be honest, how many of you are 100% confident in your application skills? I know I’m not, so the easier the product to use the better. Vita Liberata Body Blur [$45 for 3.38 fl. oz, available here] is that kind of product.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
Vita Liberata Body Blur is essentially makeup for your body, think perfecting BB cream. This fast-drying warm-toned medium bronze gel-cream is easy to apply and to blend to create the perfect shading. You could even use it for body contouring by dotting along the collar bones to give your natural features a more delicate look.
“Skin finishing body makeup that perfects skin, gives a natural looking tint for the body, and reflects light for a photo-ready finish.”
Infused with skin-repairing Panthenol, softening Shea Butter, perfecting Vitamin E, and soothing Aloe Leaf Water, Vita Liberata Body Blur instantly gives the skin smooth, velvety finish and masterfully conceals minor imperfections. Like all of the brand’s products, Body Blur is cruelty-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. The gel dries ultra-fast so you can get dressed right away after the application.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Water*, Aqua (Water, Eau), Glycerin*, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Isohexadecane, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, (Beurre)*, Saccharide Isomerate*, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Cucumis Melo (Melon) Fruit Extract*, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerine, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract*, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract*, Synthetic Fluorophlogopite, Hydrolysed Silk, Tin Oxide, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491 (Iron Oxide), CI 77492 (Iron Oxide), CI 77499 (Iron Oxide)
HOW TO USE:
Vita Liberata Body Blur is a tint, not a self-tanner, so you can apply it as you would any other makeup product: take the appropriate amount and blend it into the skin. Use on its own, or as a shimmery primer base under other makeup products. The company recommends using a special mitt if you plan to apply this gel all over your body, but I found that my hands worked just as well. Body Blur is water-resistant, but the tint comes off easily with some soap and loofah. Bonus points for not leaving my hands stained for days!
MY THOUGHTS:
So back to my initial worries about looking like an oompa-loompa. Body Blur spreads so well I could blend it out to be as sheer as I wanted, making it almost invisible even on my fair skin. However, using it that way would be a total waste of a perfectly good product. So far I used it to warm up my skin when I wore a short-sleeved shirt for the first time after a long winter. I thought it looked very lovely, and gave me a healthy glow without the bake! I can see why celebrities often choose Vita Liberata products, so far nothing I tried from this brand has made my skin look unnaturally orange. Bottom line, this is perhaps my favorite Vita Liberata product to date because it can be so versatile, and truly does look natural even on my snow white complexion. I also love that the effect is temporary, and as soon as I wash it off I’m back to my porcelain skin, so there’s virtually no commitment whatsoever.
You can buy Vita Liberata Body Blur at Sephora and Vita Liberata.

I’m not a sunless tanner, but this sounds like one of the best.
I didn’t used to be, but I’ve been using them quite often lately.
So happy it’s cruelty free.
It’s a good thing to consider, for sure.
I love Vita Liberata, I will have to try this out!
Yay, another Vita Liberata fan!
I’m always so unsure of self tanners because I can tan just fine on my own. I’m also afraid of bad or streaky placement.
I don’t tan so self-tanners is the only way for me to get that holiday glow 🙂 And girl, I hear ya about the streaks! I messed up my share of self-tanner applications, but I’m actually getting better it the more I fail, haha.
I loved using this, too! My legs looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. I applied it with a large, stiff makeup brush and buffed it in. It lasted two days on my pale, pale legs! lol.
I’m glad you enjoyed using it, too, Nidia!
I think it’ll be a good way for someone to get a preview of how they’d look with a bit of a tan. It’s great that it works so well with your skin tone too!
It’s always so hard to find a self-tanner that will look natural with fair complexion, so I’m glad to have discovered Body Blur.
Sounds like a good way to test drive a tan look!
indeed, it is! I love that you can just wash it off at the end of the day.
I am also weary of self tanners. Glad this worked and will keep an eye out for it. Sunless is the way forward!
I didn’t used to like self-tanners, but I’ve been using them pretty often lately and even have a few favorites. Body Blur is one of them 🙂
This looks wonderful for Summer.
I think so, too, Erika! I wasn’t really into self-tanners until very recently, and now that I’m better at applying them I really like the results.
This would be amazing for an all-over even, glowing tone.
I have this and need to try it on my snow white legs!
I think you will like it!
I recommend Vita Liberata when people ask me for a good self tanner.
Me too! I didn’t used to like self-tanners, but changed my mind after experiencing Vita Liberata products.
I need something like that once it gets warm here where I live and I can start wearing tops and shorts 😛
I can’t wait for warm weather to come! I joke that it feels like there’s always 6 months of winter here in Michigan, haha 🙂
Glad to hear this didn’t make you look like an oompa-loompa!
Nothing worse than that fake-looking orange tan 🙂
I’m always interested in products like these, but am so scared I’ll get it on my clothes as the day goes on!
I know what you mean! I wouldn’t use Body Blur while wearing whites, but it didn’t seem to leave visible stains on dark clothes.
I love this brand so much. I have been thinking about self tanner a lot lately.
Actually, I’ve been thinking about self-tanners, too. I never used them in the past really, but I changed my mind lately.
