StriVectin never ceases to amaze me. They have so many wonderful products in the lineup already, yet they always keep pushing for beauty innovations. I had an opportunity to sample the brand’s latest invention – StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream [$95 for 1.7 oz, available here] – a multi-tasking anti-aging moisturizer that targets 12 visible signs of aging that manifest in fine lines, wrinkles, reduced density, loss of firmness, sagging, uneven texture, dehydration, dullness, discoloration, lack of clarity, reduced resilience, and enlarged pores. That’s a lot of things to take care of, so a good anti-aging skincare wardrobe is a must for me, and anything that promises to slow down the clock for my skin is worth trying.
Like many of the brand’s products, StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream comes in a signature hot pink jar. The consistency reminds me of a thick white paste that melts into a runny lotion when I warm it up between my fingers prior to application. It has no noticeable fragrance, which is something scent-sensitive people will certainly appreciate.
I use about a dozen different products on any given day, and sometimes formula clashes occur. StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream did not want to play well with one of my serums. Every time I paired those two together I ended up having to redo my entire routine due to massive flaking. There were no other formula clashes aside from that one serum, so now I just try to remember not to wear them on the same day.
Once on the skin this cream feels fantastic! It instantly gives my complexion smoother appearance, making it plumper and more moisturized. On those days when my cheeks and chin get a little dry I like to mix in a few drops of argan or some other nourishing oil for extra benefits.
Since I have combination/dehydrated skin, I look for lightweight anti-aging products that also help with the water loss. They’re harder to find than you think! StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream contains patented NIA-114 technology that helps address just that – it makes the skin’s moisture barrier stronger, helping it stay hydrated more effectively.
Bottom line: This is a decent lightweight multi-tasking moisturizer with some useful anti-aging ingredients that will work well for someone with normal, oily, and combination skin. It doesn’t contain Alcohol Denat, and it’s unscented, which makes it a viable choice for sensitive skin, too. However, lack of SPF and jar packaging make this otherwise good product a second choice for me personally.
You can purchase StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream at Strivectin.com, Ulta, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and other fine beauty retailers.

Funny, I don’t think of this as lightweight, but it sometimes isn’t hydrating enough for me (I use it at night) so on those night I use either Paula’s Choice Hydrating Mask or new L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Night Moisturizer on top of it. I really like this stuff for my older skin. Great for Fitming. Fortunately it works with all my serums
Glad to hear you like this moisturizer too! It definitely does not look lightweight, but my skin just drinks it up so I never get that heavy oily feeling like I do from heavy moisturizers that look exactly like this one.
This cream is so freaking good! I need to layer it with another moisturizer, as it can’t handle my very dry skin, alone but I like how it makes my skin feel firmer and a little smoother. At my age, that is a gift. 😉
So happy to hear that you’ve been enjoying it too, Erika! It’s certainly lightweight, so I can see that it probably won’t be moisturizing enough for someone with dry skin. It’s nice that you can easily layer it with other products though!
I love this too. I like to use it in combination with retinol
Great pairing! I use this one on its own under my serums and essences, whichever ones I choose to apply that day.
As much as I love scents in creams, I like that this is unscented. Especially when I’m putting things on at night….yea, I don’t want to be smelling it before I go to bed, haha.
I also like scents in skincare sometimes, especially if they are non-cloying and natural; none of that fairy’s breath or ocean mist car freshner stuff.
They have such wonderful skincare! I’m trying out their haircare next!
Me too, and I can’t wait! Which collection did you choose? I opted in for volume/frizz control.
I am like you, for skincare a spatula or brush is a bit of a deal breaker (if product comes in a jar). But it is good to know this is a good one.
StriVectin has a lot of really nice jar moisturizers, and I think it would benefit them if they included spatulas in the boxes. I love their formulas!
Strivectin makes so many great products. I actually kind of prefer jar packaging.
That’s an interesting perspective! Why do you prefer jar packaging, if you don’t mind me asking? I personally always thought pumps were easier and quicker to use.
It seems like so many pump products never empty the container, or the pump breaks. Plus with a jar it is easy to see how much is left.
I’m glad to know that I wasn’t the only person that had a skin care clash. I use a lot of products daily and I noticed that some of my serums used in combination with this balled up and looked like glue… and in some cases even flaked. I think overall the cream was nice, but I have to be careful with what I use it with.
I’m also glad to hear I’m not alone, because every review I’ve seen never mentioned the pilling. I wonder what it is that causes the flaking.
oh gosh, my skin really needs this!!! I’m blogging the Strivectin neck cream soon. It is amazing. It really works!!!
Haven’t tried that one, but I used a neck cream from Exuviance and noticed some firming. Would you recommend the StriVectin version? My mom is looking for recommendations and willing to try a whole bunch of them.
It’s GREAT! I really didn’t expect much but I’ve had excellent results and I’ll be blogging it soon. I had to quit using it to try another product and wow, what a difference!
I’d love to try this. I appreciate when products are fragrance free and while I don’t love jars, we just don’t seem to have a choice.
You’re right, sometimes the product is so good you’re ready to forgive the poor packaging choice. Like some of those lip balms in tins.
The jar packaging kills me. It sounds like it’s nice aside from that.
I know how you feel. The packaging doesn’t necessarily kill me, but I certainly prefer pumps, or at least a spatula 🙂
As long as it’s lightweight on the skin, I’m, good with it.
It looks so thick in the jar, but spreads well and feels almost too lightweight on the skin. People with dry skin might have to double up with something else!
