Game Day Traditions

The biggest sporting event in the country is right around the corner, so let’s talk about Game Day traditions. While I am a bit indifferent to many professional sports, I love the idea of getting together with the family for pizza, burgers, snacks, and games. And hey, who can resist the fun ads and the halftime show? Certainly not this girl!

Game Day Traditions

I thought we might be inviting people over this year and even had a couple easy party recipes in mind, but sounds like we will probably go to my in-laws to watch the game instead. Even though my husband’s favorite team won’t be playing, it’s still a great opportunity to spend time in great company.

Do you use any special products that help you get ready for the party or am I the only one here overthinking the occasion? 🙂 Anyway, I always try to look put together whenever I can, especially when we go out, and family get-togethers are no exception. Today I am sharing three of my current beauty must-haves that you’ve already seen at Walmart and other local retailers. Each of these inexpensive products gives me a boost of confidence and makes me feel like I got it together even when the rest of my life is complete chaos.

Game Day Traditions Gillette Venus Swirl

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know about my envy for men’s razors, which always seemed to be sharper and cheaper. Well, no more envy for me! It’s been a year since I started using Gillette Venus Swirl with FlexiBall, and I am still loyal to it. This is my favorite razor handle, and I tried a lot of them! The handle twists and turns to provide the most comfortable shaving experience, and because Gillette razor heads are interchangeable, you can use any handle with any razor refill. My favorite pairing – Swirl handle with Venus & Olay refill.

Game Day Traditions Head & Shoulders

I normally don’t struggle with dandruff, but every Winter my scalp becomes a flaky mess since the air is much drier. Sudden drops of temperature aren’t helping the situation either. At first I felt a little embarrassed to admit that I use an anti-dandruff shampoo, but as years went by I cared less and less, and now I straight up flaunt it. Yes, ladies, I do use Head & Shoulders 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner, and then top it off with a luxurious nourishing masque from a department store, or with coconut oil. I alternate Head & Shoulders with my regular shampoo, so on average I use it about twice a week. This method definitely helps me keep those flakes at bay and gives me a boost of confidence to wear any black or other dark shirts I want without the fear of seeing white specks all over my shoulders.

Game Day Traditions Crest 3D White Luxe

And finally, Crest 3D White strips make me want to smile more often. My teeth used to be sensitive to whitening strips, but they can tolerate these just fine, so this is the only brand I use. Random fact, but did you know that there’s a psychological reason why smiling people are perceived to be more attractive? Some scientists did a study on beauty [which was totally subjective by the way] and the results showed that people ranked as the most beautiful all had one trait in common: short distance between their top lip and the nose. Random, right? Well, when we smile the skin around our mouth stretches and that gap becomes shorter, making anyone instantly more attractive.
