Looks like you all enjoyed my last review of this Korean beauty box, so here’s another one for you! This is probably the cheapest WISH Box I’ve seen on their site – it costs only $9.99 and at the time of this review is still available for sale.
HOW IT WORKS
Wishtrend is a big online retailer of Korean cosmetics, which ships internationally. Once a month Wishtrend releases a themed WISH Box filled with samples and full-sized Korean beauty products at a highly discounted price. Prices for each box will vary from month to month, and the shipping depends on your location. BRILLIANT Loveheart Sparkling Powder A,B – I had no idea what these packets were, so I had to google the instructions. Apparently, they contain two powders to carbonate and mineralize the water you wash your face with, providing deep cleansing and whitening results.
SKINMISO Pore Beauty Nose Pack – I expected to see your regular peel-off nose strips, but Korean ones are very different to what we’re used to. At first you use the sheet #1 – it opens up your pores and makes the gunk easier to extract. Then after 10 minutes you take it off, and clean out your pores using cotton swabs or a special tool. After that is done, you apply the second nose patch and wait another 10 minutes. This one delivers minerals, soothes and tightens the pores we just cleaned out.
SKINMISO Pore Beauty Silky Essence – I thought this was a separate product, but it’s actually part of the kit with the nose strips, and is the final step in the routine. It seals in the vitamins from step 2 and protects the freshly cleaned skin by forming a barrier. By the way, this blackhead cleansing system is very popular in Asia, and was even ranked as the best-selling item in Singapore in 2012. Currently over 5,000 of these kits are sold every day just in Korea alone!
MUA Fabulous Everyday Star Cream – I’m amazed at how many new things I have discovered in just the first two WISH Boxes, and this odd moisturizer is one of them. The instructions say that you must draw a star line using the 3-ball applicator which will work as a massager. The sharp star points are forehead, both eyes, and Laugh lines around the mouth, and it took some getting used to to draw those lines straight like the tutorial picture. Aside from the crazy roller, this is actually a pretty decent moisturizer, which can be layered with SPF product. As an ctive ingredient, it contains 6% chitin liquid that improves skin elasticity and increases hydration, while being gentle for sensitive and damaged skin.
HELLOEVERYBODY SPA Vita Berry Shampoo / Treatment – My box smelled like strawberries, even though both the shampoo and the masque came factory sealed. The fragrance was very strong and very pleasant, it’s like I was in a strawberry heaven when I was trying these out in the shower 🙂 The shampoo has sulfates, but not the worst one – SLS- so it’s not terribly evil. The treatment masque is actually what I liked the most, it made my hair very soft and feeling thicker and stronger after the first very use.
KLAIRS Rich Moist Soothing Mask – I already received this mask in my WISH Box No.13. It’s soaked in half a bottle of moisturizing serum, and the sheet itself is made of 100% pure cotton. I like how it makes my skin feel so fresh, tight and moisturized at the same time. It’s very affordable when buying in bulk, if you get their biggest bundle of 30 sheets, each one ends up costing only about $0.75!
THE VERDICT
Another amazing WISH Box, and I’m very happy to slowly become acquainted with the world of Korean skin care. They sure have some interesting and unique products, especially the non-peel pore strips and the Star cream, which were my favorites. This bundle was a great value in terms of money and entertainment, and I will certainly buy future boxes.
