The Fetch Box would be the fourth TOM [time of the month] subscription service I have reviewed. I kind of expected the same thing from them, after all how different can period boxes be? As crazy as it sounds, I actually found all of them pretty unique, each one offering things that other three don’t. November is the inaugural month for The Fetch Box, and they market themselves as a TOM subscription for teens put together by teens.
HOW IT WORKS
For $13/month + $5 S&H ($10 S&H to Canada) The Fetch Box will supply you with everything you need to get through that time of the month. Every package comes with your choice of tampons and pads, a sampling of comfort foods, and a health or beauty item.

First of all, let’s talk about the products this subscription is all about. For this review I was sent an introductory Variety Combo pack, which included an assortment of tampons and pads with varying absorbency levels, and from different brands. I think this is pretty cool idea: that way young girls get to discover various companies and products without having to purchase full-sized boxes.
All of the brands were well-known: there were tampons from Kotex, Tampax and Playtex; pads from Kotex, Always and Stayfree; and liners from Kotex, Always and Carefree. According to the paper insert, all subscribers have the option of customizing their boxes with whatever feminine products they need, up to 25 items, at least 10 days before the scheduled period so the package can be adjusted accordingly.
Every month The Fetch Box subscribers will get one or two new feminine products to try; those samples don’t take the place of your 25 chosen products. In the introductory box I received two Always Hygiene Wipes and one Kotex thong liner, both of which I already use. By the way, these wipes are very handy to have in the makeup bag, so I was glad to get a few extras.
Another thing all boxes will have is a beauty item or an accessory. In my box I received three elastic hair ties, which quite honestly I already have a lot of, but it never hurts to have more since I lose them all the time. The estimated value on the card is $10, but I couldn’t find the brand tag attached, so I don’t know how accurate it is.
And lastly, what kind of period box would it be without treats! This month The Fetch Box went down the traditional route and included many tried-and-true favorites that you can find at any grocery store. I must admit, I’ve been quite spoiled by another subscription, so I didn’t personally find the variety very exciting, but I know there’s definitely a market for these, and many girls will enjoy these snacks.
THE VERDICT
The inaugural box had a very “indie” feel to it, from the packaging to the contents. I liked that the items were tightly packed together, so even if the box was thrown around during shipping, everything would still arrive intact. I’m on the fence about these particular treats, but if I was to think about an average teenager, these are most likely the kinds of things she would get for herself anyway. Overall, I think this subscription is a better value for the money than many TOM boxes out there, but it all comes down to whether you personally like these products or not.

Does have a teen feel…. How do I not have any of this type of hair tie….lol. I don’t think it would work on my fine hair.
Haha, actually there are lots of DIY tutorials explaining how to make your on on Pinterest. That’s way cheaper than buying them at a store 🙂
