The selection of products is amazing, and exactly what I need right now. Most of it, as you will see in the pictures, is hair stuff, but I was getting low of my hair treatments so I desperately needed more. And of course, who would be able to resist the temptation of getting a Butter London nail polish from the newest Summer Holiday collection!
About Allure Beauty Box:
Once a season Allure Magazine releases a box filled with seasonal must-haves. The box contents are never a surprise, because they always reveal exactly what’s going to be in it. The box costs $39.99 + $10.00 S&H + tax if applicable, but the value is always 3-4 times higher than what you pay.
As you can see, the box was packed full! Hopefully, I will review everything over time, because there’s just too much stuff to go through. The plan is to set aside a few things as gifts, and use everything else myself. Most of the items in the box are hair products, which is why I got it in the first place. I was running low on my hair spray and soon I’ll have relatives staying over for a month, so this was a good chance for me to stock up the guest bathroom with some basic essentials.
Hair products:
- Redken Extreme Anti-snap Leave-in Treatment $16.50 ARV
- Pureology Colour Stylist Supreme Control Hairspray $26.00 ARV
- Global Keratin Hair Taming System Leave-In Spray $22.00 ARV
- Redken Control Addict 28 High-Control Hairspray $20.00 ARV
- Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Nourishing Shampoo Damage & Color Repair $5.99 ARV
- Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Nourishing Conditioner Damage & Color Repair $5.99 ARV
- Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Cream $5.99 ARV
- Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Moroccan Argan Styling Oil $6.99
- TRESemme Platinum Strength Strengthening Heat Protect Spray $4.39 ARV
- Nexxus Youth Renewal Rejuvenating Elixir $17.99 ARV
Face products we got were mostly of the “cleansing” type, consisting of classic staples like Cetaphil and new must-haves like Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser that just came out a little bit ago. I heard many great reviews about it so I really wanted to give it a try.
Face products:
- Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture SPF 15 $11.99 ARV
- Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Oil-Controlling Towelettes $5.29 ARV
- Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Pads $5.99 ARV
- Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser $11.49 ARV
- Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser $8.99 ARV
Not a lot of body products this time, mostly self-tanners that I don’t use, and the bikini spray by Sally Hansen that I might or might not try.
Body products:
- Sally Hansen Zero Bumps Bikini Spray $7.99 ARV
- TanTowel Classic Half Body Application $12.00 ARV
- Neutrogena MicroMist Airbrush Sunless Tan $11.49 ARV
Nail products were represented by some big name brands like Sally Hansen and Butter London, along with a nail salon brand – Sation. As you can see from the swatches, Sally Hansen “Jaded” is almost a perfect Tiffany blue, and Sation “LOve at First Byte” is a very sheer streaky orange-pink. It’s so sheer, the color almost doesn’t show up at all when you put on the first coat! I will not be swatching Butter London “Bobby Dazzler” because I plan to give it as a gift.
Nail products:
- butter LONDON 3 Free Nail Lacquer in Bobby Dazzler $15.00 ARV
- SATION Nail Lacquer in Love at First Byte $3.50 ARV
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish in Jaded $6.98 ARV
- Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops $7.33 ARV
And last but not the least, fragrance and makeup items. From all of these I’m only planning to keep the Pixi eye liner, because I just couldn’t resist the gorgeous teal color. The rest of these items would make great gifts for many wonderful women in my life, especially since Mother’s Day is almost here.
Fragrance & Makeup products:
- Endless Silky Eye Pen in No.6 True Teal $15.00 ARV
- BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Chic Fragrance $8.08 ARV
- Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor $8.99 ARV
- Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm in Healthy Blush $8.99 ARV
The verdict: The total value of this box came to $280.94, which is pretty amazing! I’m glad I could stock up on essentials and little gifts, and I will probably get the Fall box even if I don’t really need anything from it.
Disclosure: I bought this.
i got mine too today! ah so much products and do not know which to use first! LOL. None will go to waste as most of the prods i will use too and some to give away. I hope you enjoy your stuff! looking forward to more individual reviews 🙂
Glad to hear that you got one! They were gone in under 15 minutes, that was just crazy 🙂 Looking forward to your reviews as well!
wow that is a lot of products! definitely worth the money. I can see why they were gone so fast. I have been meaning to try that Cetaphil cleanser for a while now, have you used it before? is it any good?

As far as the cleansing properties go, it’s fairly average. But it’s soooo gentle, even people with super sensitive skin can use it, and that’s what makes it a bestseller over here 🙂
=O I have to have this. Can you still get this box?
Sorry Heather, these went on sale 11 days ago and sold out withon 10-15 minutes! But don’t fret, next one will go on sale at the end of August and I’ll definitely give a heads up on it 🙂
Gah – it is sold out. What a great deal. How do you find out when they will go on sale?
I’m an Allure Beauty Enthusiast and I get emails telling me when to expect these to go on sale.
Next one will be out at the end of August 🙂
What site do I go on to order the one in augist , do I have to sign up for any newsletters as well ??
Hi Jalissa! Unfortunately, this box is not available anymore. There are limited quantities available, so once they’re sold out – they’re gone. Your only chance at getting the past boxes once they are sold out on Allure’s website is checking eBay in hope that people are willing to sell theirs.
Dang! I wish I would have known about those. Of course, my husband is probably glad that I didn’t.
Aww that’s too bad you missed it. I’m sure your husband would understand if you just broke it down for him, the value of this box is almost 4 times what we paid! 🙂 Plus, $20 from every box went to charity.
