Kennedy was my first ever Zoya polish and my introduction to the wonderful world of 5-free formulas. I was looking for a nude nail polish and noticed that a lot of nail bloggers recommended Zoya. At the time I knew nothing about the brand, and I also thought that $8 for a bottle is too expensive, but I really liked Kennedy and decided to splurge on it.
Kennedy was released as part of the Feel Collection in Winter 2011. Here’s the shade description from Zoya website:
“Zoya Nail Polish in Kennedy can be best described as a full coverage, pale, french beige cream. An ideal cool neutral color that covers fully opaque in 2 coats.”
Just like most Zoya cremes, Kennedy runs on a thick side, but it’s fairly easy to work with. It’s highly pigmented, so it could be a one-coater if you have a steady hand. As for me, I think two coats are just right, and I always try to go for extra coats to thicken my naturally thin nails. One of the cons is the drying time – it might take a while unless I’m using a fast drying top coat or drops (which I always do). Another con is the picture on Zoya’s website – the polish looks nothing like its picture online. In the pictures it appears mauvey-dusty rose-nude, while in reality it’s more like a slightly rosey beige.
All Zoya polishes are free from formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, toluene and DBP.
