Summer may be over soon, but don’t let that stop you from wearing sunglasses every day. After all, our eyes are exposed to UV light all the time when the sun is out, regardless of the season. Tired of same old styles and popular brands? Westwood Sunglasses is a new, recently crowdfunded company that offers an extensive range of quality sunglasses made entirely of wood. Yep!
Westwood Sunglasses was founded in the outdoor recreation mecca of Ogden, Utah, on the Wasatch Front of the Rocky Mountains. At those altitudes sun protection is not just optional, it’s a necessity; but nobody wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of sunglasses just to lose them on a slope or in the river while canoeing. Westwood decided it was time for a change and came up with a line of affordable sunnies with premium quality polarized lens, that cost 2-3 times less than their fancy counterparts.
Like I said earlier, each handcrafted pair of sunglasses is made entirely of wood. There are several types of wood the brand uses, including bamboo, zebrawood, cherrywood, walnut, ebony, and even wood used for skateboards. Some of the frames are so light, they float in the water so you’ll never lose them in the pool! The pair you see in these pictures – Coal – is made of bamboo, and it’s part of the Classic Collection.
Westwood Sunglasses is giving you the opportunity to win a pair from the Classic Collection! All you need to do is enter the giveaway using the widget below, or click here if the widget isn’t showing up [certain browsers don’t show it for some reason]. The giveaway ends 8/31, so hurry up and get your entries in before it’s too late! Good luck!
