I went a bit overboard with my first favorites post listing pretty much anything that comes to mind that I loved using for those seven days. This time I am sharing some new items that I kind of forgot to mention last week, but I still use them almost daily.
I’ve been using benefit Peek-a-Bright Eyes palette practically every day for plain neutral everyday makeup. Every pan in this palette provides great pigmentation and staying power, and the colors blend really well. The highlighter pan is actually a tiny pink cream compact with a lid to protect it from being dusted with fine eye shadow powder.
Another gem from that I’ve been loving lately is benefit Gimme Brow eyebrow gel. It’s super easy to use and makes my eyebrows look naturally pretty and full without looking overdone. It stays on pretty well, too!
I picked up a few brushes from Real Techniques last week, and they arrived just in time for this post. I’ve been using Blush Brush and Stippling Brush nearly every day since I got them, and I’m just really impressed with the quality. They don’t compare with my favorite IT Cosmetics brushes, but they are also 2-3 times cheaper. I think for anyone who doesn’t want to invest a fortune into building a pro brush kit, Real Techniques is a great company to buy from.
Now here’s my expensive skincare toy, a Foreo Luna Mini. I use it as an alternative for Clarisonic, but to be honest, I do miss the deep clean feeling that a real brush provides. I mostly use it to help get off stubborn makeup or one of those super thick physical sunscreens, and I also use the side with thicker bristles to give my skin some oil massage using whatever serum-oil I can find.
Le Metier de Beaute Dual Action Makeup Remover – I’ve been using this makeup remover exclusively for the eyes, and it’s been doing a fabulous job so far. LMdB doesn’t sell this product [it’s some kind of counter exclusive for resident MUAs], but they admitted that this dupe is pretty much the same thing. This is one of the best two-phase makeup removers I have used, it will probably make my next week’s favorites, too.
One of the products I’m currently testing is a huge tube of Perlier Softening Moisturizing Hand Cream with White Lily Extract. It’s pretty much everything I want a good hand cream to be: moisturizing without being sticky, fast-absorbing, and has light pleasant fragrance.
Last but not least, I totally forgot to mention it last week, but I don’t apply my mascara before my lashes are curled with my favorite heated curler from Wishtrend.
I love Perlier! I got a set of their shea body butters and they’re amazing! Perfect for rough skin. The Benefit Peek-a-Bright looked kind of average in the pan, but I was super impressed when I tried it on my face. It really does bring light to the eyes!
Ahh, those body butters really feel amazing! Don’t you love how different they all are? Some are thicker and others are more like a lotion than a butter, so everyone can find something for their skin type. And I totally get what you are saying about the benefit palette, it looked so boring until I actually used it.
