So, without further ado, here are my October essentials.

The first thing that jumped at me was a pair of neon orange panties, so of course I had to inspect them first. These are made by a brand called OnGossamer, and I must have been living under a giant rock because I have never heard of it before. That was also when I realized that I forgot to uncheck bikini bottoms in my quiz, because I prefer boyshorts and hipsters instead. I guess OnGossamer is a nice brand, because it’s sold at Nordstrom, and the retail value is $16, according to the tag. The material is some kind of ultra-light super sheer see-through mesh, and that makes me a bit too conscious, it’s certainly not something I’m comfortable with. Also, I doubt I can machine wash these, unless I’m using one of those special baggies and running an ultra-gentle cycle. Fortunately, this was the only thing that didn’t work out for me in this box, and I quite liked everything else.

My second item is another pair of panties – black lacy hip hugger panty made by Coobie, which is another brand I’ve never heard of. They remind me a lot of Hanky Pankies, because they look very pretty and feel incredibly comfortable. They don’t cut into my skin, and they stretch so well, I could easily fit into a smaller size. The retail value of these is $14, according to their website.

The third item is a very nice high quality teal camisole with lace trim and padding, also made by Coobie. I really like that it provides plenty of support and slight form-fitting properties, so the whole area looks smooth and lifted without the need of wearing a bra underneath. I’ve been wearing it all day under the t-shirt today, and it felt great. Some of my friends would probably say that wearing these things is for women who gave up on themselves, but I disagree. I think comfortable things can be cute, and this one is a great example. According to Coobie website, this cami is their newest addition to the line of popular seamless bras, basically it’s a camisole and a bra in one. It retails for $24 (not too shabby).

Last but not the least, I received a very lovely fuchsia-colored racerback tank top from the brand called Bella + Canvas. It’s made of a very light and soft cotton, and I actually slept in it last night. I think it’s a perfect, high quality essential, and it’s something I would definitely buy on my own if I walked into a store. I couldn’t find this exact tank top on the brand’s website, but similar models retail for $20’ish.

The verdict: Not bad for my first box, and actually, the experience was very flattering, because I realized I need to order a smaller size next time. Also, in addition to changing the size, I plan to tweak my profile a little bit more to exclude certain types of products, and also hope for some frilly stuff 🙂 I feel like I got my money’s worth, and I was absolutely thrilled with three out of four products. I paid $36 for the box, and in terms of personal value I think I would have definitely paid at least that much for the products I loved. Looking forward to November!
