Urban Decay Outspoken Vice Lipstick (limited edition release)

This new release will probably excite UD collectors and brand superfans the most. In March to celebrate International Women’s Day, the brand added a limited edition shade to their Vice lipstick lineup. Unique bullet design features the signature purple color with a beautiful rose on the cap. Best part? 100% of the sales – all of it! – goes to the Ultraviolet Edge, a global initiative to support and empower women worldwide.

Urban Decay Outspoken Vice Lipstick

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Outspoken ($18) is described on the website as ‘mauve-nude pink with a metallized finish’, and it features the same outstanding buttery texture as the rest of the Vices. It’s a breeze to apply, doesn’t drag, dry out my lips or feather throughout the day. The formula is infused with nourishing and skin-loving ingredients that leave the lips feeling soft and comfortable. Aloe vera, jojoba, avocado, babassu oils, and even the exotic illipe butter derived from Malaysian illipe trees provide long-lasting moisture, while potent antioxidants Vitamins C and E help fight off free radicals. These ingredients are something you would normally find in a moisturizer or a serum, so it’s surprising [in a good way] to see them in my lipstick. Besides, nourishing butters come in handy during this transitional period between winter and spring when temperatures and humidity change in weird patterns. Or maybe that’s just Michigan? One day it’s sunny and warm here, and the next day it’s windy and freezing. All of those changes show up on my lips right away.

Urban Decay Outspoken Vice Lipstick (lip swatch)

Outspoken is not a color I would have picked for myself, but I actually really like the way it looks. The shade is bold but not too bold for someone like me who is used to mostly neutral pink and beige lipsticks. I also don’t normally wear colors that are too shimmery or metallic, but trying on Outspoken made me think that maybe I should give metallic finish a try after all. Trying something new and feeling good about it – now isn’t that an empowering feeling? And that’s what Outspoken represents!

Do you use lipsticks with metallic finish as part of your everyday makeup looks? What do you think about Outspoken, do you like it? Let me know in the comments below!
