Today I quickly hopped on the blog to share some exciting news with you all! After living in the United States for a while, I am finally going to visit my family back in Russia for the first time since moving here. There were several things preventing me from traveling internationally before, but I am super stoked and also pretty nervous to see what my hometown looks like after all these years. I originally planned my trip for July, but had to reschedule for early June due to a medical emergency. I plan to undergo treatment in Moscow, where healthcare is a lot more affordable for my current budget.
The more I think about my upcoming trip, the more I realize how much I missed Moscow! I loved growing up in the city; there’s always so much to see and so much to do. This abundance of choices is why I sometimes wish my husband and I would move to a more populated area [ideally to NYC haha!]. I don’t think that’s going to happen though, because he has a nice job with good benefits close to home right now, and our family lives nearby too.
I scheduled a few posts to be published while I’m away so this blog won’t just be sitting around without any updates for weeks. Make sure to check them out in the upcoming days! Spoiler alert: one of those posts is a rant about skincare products I wasted money on recently.
I will be regularly sharing bits from my trip to Moscow on Instagram stories, so make sure to follow me there if you want to see what Russia is really like. I know I don’t utilize stories as much as I should, but that’s because I don’t find my personal life in a rural Midwest town to be all that exciting. Let me know if you would like to see the bits of my everyday activities anyway, and I’ll be sure to start sharing more often if there’s enough interest.
And that’s it for my quick update! Let me know in the comments below if you have any specific content about Russia that you want me to see on IG stories while I’m in Moscow! What people wear? Food? Shopping? Beauty trends? I’ll be happy to share!
