Multi-taskers for Easy Travel from Perricone MD

Are you planning to travel this holiday season? What skincare products do you usually pack for the trip? I am a terrible overpacker and always bring a whole bunch of ‘what ifs’, 99% of which I never end up using. Thankfully, this year Perricone MD made all of the choices for me, and they are perfect in their simplicity.

Basically, Perricone MD stripped down my beauty routine to bare essentials. These three products will nourish and protect the skin’s surface, ensuring that I am not missing out on anti-aging benefits, while the specially formulated whole foods supplement can help boost the immune system and circulation during travel. I would probably also pack a washcloth and a foaming cleanser alongside these, just to make the routine is more complete, but the rest of these products pretty much have all of the bases covered.

Perricone MD The Fixer Solid Oil

Perricone MD The Fixer Solid Oil ($38 for 0.7 oz) can be used both as an oily cleanser and a moisturizer for dry skin. I also like to use a tiny amount in place of of a silkening hair serum and to tame flyaways. This multi-purpose balm is very handy because it can replace many different products in a pinch, making it ideal for travel and just for carrying around in your purse for midday use. The formula contains a blend of natural oils and Dr. Perricone’s Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex™ that ‘helps activate antioxidant pathways’, which makes the youth-preserving benefits of botanical antioxidants more effective. This balm is fairly concentrated and a little goes a long way. A tiny scoop transforms into a highly emollient liquid oil that spreads over the skin like butter. There is fragrance in the formula, so the product smells like a classic moisturizer for sensitive skin, or a cold cream. It’s the kind of familiar soothing cucumber scent most of us can instantly recognize.

You will LOVE it if:

  • You prefer multi-tasking products.
  • You already use balms in your beauty routine.
  • You embrace the minimalist approach to skincare.
  • You have dry, normal, or combination skin.

You will HATE it if:

  • You prefer unscented skincare.
  • You prefer all-natural skincare.
  • Jar packaging is an issue.
  • You have oily skin. This balm contains Avocado Oil, which is not suitable for oily skin.
  • You are sensitive to any of the ingredients.

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Dextrin Palmitate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Fragrance/Parfum, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane, Tocopherol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Tetrahydrodemethoxydiferuloylmethane, Tetrahydrobisdemethoxydiferuloylmethane, Lepidium Sativum Sprout Extract, Lecithin, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Diethylhexyl Syringylidenemalonate, Glycerin, Water/Aqua/Eau, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Amyl Cinnamal, Citronellol, Limonene.

Perricone MD Refreshing Shower Mask & Daily Brightening Moisturizer SPF30

Perricone MD Refreshing Shower Mask ($50 for 2.5 oz) – I think most of us don’t really have time for masking when we travel for the holidays, but we at least have time for the shower, right? Perricone MD Refreshing Shower Mask is activated by the shower’s heat and steam to gently calm, soften, and hydrate the skin. The formula contains squalane and jojoba that help lock in the moisture, rhodiola to reduce redness from heat, and Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex™ with turmeric, olive leaf, green tea, and cress sprouts. This mask basically gives the skin a boost of moisture and antioxidants, preparing it for the rest of the skincare routine. Besides, makeup goes on better if the skin is well-hydrated.

Tip: make sure to wash your face with cleanser first before applying the mask. You wouldn’t apply a moisturizer to a dirty face, would you? 😉

You will LOVE it if:

  • You don’t normally have time for masking.
  • You like products that save time in the morning.
  • You have dehydrated skin [which can also be dry, normal, oily, or combination].

You will HATE it if:

  • You prefer unscented skincare.
  • You prefer all-natural skincare.
  • You are sensitive to any of the ingredients.

Top to Bottom: Daily Brightening Moisturizer SPF30, Refreshing Shower Mask, The Fixer Solid Oil.

Perricone MD Daily Brightening Moisturizer SPF30 ($75 for 2 oz) – Protecting the skin from the sun is the single most important thing you can do to stave off the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Seriously! This pink-toned, lightweight, anti-aging moisturizer contains a mineral sunblock Zinc Oxide that shields the skin from the UV rays, and also acts as a mattifying agent. The formula also boasts Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex™ with turmeric, olive leaf, green tea, and cress sprouts, hydrating watermelon extract, and soft filters that smooth the appearance of uneven skin tone. This milky lotion provides preemptive care, especially for younger skin that doesn’t have a lot of visible fine lines and wrinkles yet.

You will LOVE it if:

  • You are a fan of using sunscreen daily.
  • You normal, oily, or combination skin.
  • You are looking for a daily moisturizer with high SPF.
  • You avoid chemical sunscreens.
  • You like products with pump packaging.

Perricone MD Travel Booster

Perricone MD Travel Booster ($25 for 10 capsules) is a bit of an extra. I normally don’t switch up my supplements when I travel, but I see how it would be beneficial to add a little something-something, especially when I know my body is about to be under stress from traveling, sleeping in a different bed, drinking different water, eating unfamiliar food, and experiencing different climate. Travel Booster is a blend of ten different organic mushrooms from different parts of the planet, which supposedly help promote circulation during prolonged periods of sitting in the car, on the train, or on the plain. The supplement also contains Vitamin C and Oligonol® that support the immune system, and Zinc that promotes better digestion.

Tip: consult with your physician before introducing any new supplements to your diet. You never know how they can affect the efficiency of your current medication.

Ingredients: Vitamin C, Zinc, Oligonol® (from lychee fruit and green tea leaf)Mycelial Biomass of Maitake (Grifola Frondosus), Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum), Himematsutake (Agaricus Blazei), Cordyceps Sinensis CS4, Turkey Tail (Trametes Versicolor), Shiitake (Lentinula Edodes), Lion’s Mane (Hericium Erinaceus), Zhu Ling (Polyporous Umbellatus), Meshimakobu (Phellinus Linteus), Chaga (Innonotus Obliquus).

Complete overpacker here! I need to try more Dr Perricone skincare. The day moisturizer & the shower mask look quite appealing

The Solid Oil sounds appealing to me as I love multitasking products but I might only be able to use it in fall and winter when my skin is not oily or is less oily. Great review!!!

At one time I had at least a dozen Perricone products in my regime but I think I got confused with that many. Putting together a package of necessities would work much better. It’s too bad that they are all fragranced though.

I ALWAYS overpack because I like to have options then I rarely use everything I pack. Years ago I used a few Perricone products but I couldn’t afford to keep it up, his line is so expensive.

I pack way too many skin care items when I travel, having the essentials is important and this was a great way to really look at what I truly need.

I haven’t tried these products but I’m a somewhat overpacker! Not too bad

I try to be sensible but I still end up with a multi step skincare routine! I have only needed to make short trips away from home for the last three months so thankfully I can still keep my skin in good shape without making too many sacrifices

When I was younger, I would overpack. But now I am down to the basics

I love oil balms like that for the outer corner of my eye (not near the eye but by it). It gets super dry because my eyes are watery. It’s easy to add a balm even while wearing makeup!

I wish that oil wasnt in a pot. Otherwise I’d be in love.
