Green tea is one of those super refreshing scents that are perfect for a hot Summer day! This year The Body Shop introduced a whole new line of products infused with invigorating fragrance of whole green tea leaves. Rich in antioxidants, they help replenish the moisture and fight free radicals, while making the skin smell like a Japanese tea house for the most zen-like experience.

In total, there are nine new products in the lineup, and three gift sets.

First of all, are you familiar with Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume? Fuji Green Tea smells very similar to it: crisp, fresh, a little lemony, and slightly bitter. It was one of my earliest “grown up” fragrances, and I first received it as a gift when I was in middle school, which at this point feels like eons ago. I guess that’s why I instantly felt a connection with this line, it really felt like a blast from the past, but in a good way. It’s like listening to a favorite song from your childhood performed by a currently popular artist, and they’re totally doing it justice. So as you probably guessed, my first impression was positive after the initial whiff 🙂

I decided to follow the program and indulge in the three-step routine to achieve healthy-looking skin, which starts with Fuji Green Tea Body Wash. Since I have several open body washes, I separated them into AM and PM piles, and that fresh fragrance is what ultimately makes Fuji Green Tea Body Wash a great choice to start the day with. The scent is quite strong straight from the bottle, but it completely washes off and doesn’t linger on the skin. I thought that’s probably perfect for those ladies and gents who don’t care for scented skin care, but still want their body wash to have a slight kick to it.

The Body Shop recommends pairing it with one of their bath lilies, but you can really use any type of washcloth or a loofah for best results.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Surfactant), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Mel/Honey/Miel (Humectant), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Polysorbate 20 (Surfactant), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative).

Next up is Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub that will help slough off dead skin cells mixed with sebum and dirt. When applied to dry skin, it will also temporarily increase the blood circulation, making the surface look smoother over time

Instead, the exfoliating particles kind of glide over the skin, lubricated by the oily/balmy fragranced jelly-like base they’re suspended in. The scrub smells a lot stronger than the body wash, and does leave a trace of its scent on the skin. It also tends to leave buttery residue, and because of that I even skipped body lotion on some occasions, since it seemed unnecessary.

Keep that in mind if you are thinking about trying it, because the difference is quite drastic, and I know some people prefer more abrasive exfoliants.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), Glycerin (Humectant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Surfactant), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Cellulose Acetate (Film Former), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifying Agent), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Caprylyl Glycol (Humectant), Mel/Honey/Miel (Humectant), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Jojoba Esters (Emollient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Ultraviolet Light Absorber), Benzophenone-3 (Ultraviolet Light Absorber), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate (Emulsifying Agent), Trideceth-6 (Surfactant), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), CI 77288/Chromium Oxide Greens (Colorant), CI 42090/Blue 1 (Colorant).

The Body Shop makes a wide array of body butters, all of them suited for different skin types. After trying Fuji Green Tea Body Butter I thought its consistency and thickness were more in line with the needs of normal, dry, or dehydrated skin. If you were looking for something intensely moisturizing without the hard scoopable consistency of TBS Shea Body Butter, this is it.

Introducing Fuji Green Tea Body Wash, Body Butter, and Body Scrub! >> https://glamorable.com | via @glamorableA word of caution – you better really like this fragrance if you plan to use this body butter, because it will stay with you all day and night, until you wash it off. It’s not an issue for me, because I happen to love it, but that’s definitely something to keep in mind, especially if you also wear perfume or cologne on the daily and don’t want the scents clashing.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), Glycerin (Humectant), Glycine Soja Oil/Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil (Emollient), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Emollient), Myristyl Myristate (Emollient), Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (Skin Conditioning Agent), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate (Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifying Agent), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil (Emollient), Panthenol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Dimethicone (Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), CI 19140/Yellow 5 (Colorant), CI 42090/Blue 1 (Colorant).

By the way, the body wash and the scrub also contain a very special ingredient, aside from Japanese green tea. The Body Shop added Fair Trade honey from the UNESCO Sheka Forest Biosphere Reserve in the southern region of Ethiopia, where African bees distill the nectar of rainforest flowers. Collected with help of the bee whisperers of Beza Mar, a group dedicated to improving the livelihood of Ethiopian beekeeping communities, it supports their traditional, natural way of working with bees. Doesn’t that bottle of body wash suddenly feel extra precious?

I also wanted to note that I am a scent-sensitive person, and certain fragrances can give me very bad migraines. Even though The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea line is heavily scented, none of these three products triggered a headache. Of course, this is always individual, and some people are more scent-sensitive than others, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.
