TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo
Well, 80% repair to split ends in just 3 uses is an overstatement, but my hair does seem to be a little stronger. I have quite a few of those samples laying around so I’ll give it more time and see if it really glues my split ends back together. I do TRESemme as a brand though, among the cheaper drugstore hair care products they are probably the best value for the money, imo.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70
Now, I don’t want to bash Neutrogena or anything, I actually love and use a lot of their products, but in a lot of countries around the world it’s now forbidden to promise SPF higher than 50 (if you want to claim it’s higher, you may only use 50+). Just in case someone here doesn’t know how SPF works, it’s the amount of time you can stay in the sun without getting a sunburn, calculated based on your personal time it takes you to get a sunburn normally without using any protection. So if it takes me about 20 minutes to burn, then with this Neutrogena lotion I can supposedly stay out in the sun for 1400 minutes (over 23 hours)! Yes of course they recommend reapplying the sunscreen throughout the day and all that, but when most people see such high SPF they often forget to reapply. I’ll enjoy using my free sample but I will be treating it like any other SPF 50+.

Aveeno Living Color Shampoo & Conditioner for Medium-Thick Hair
Too bad my hair is more on the fine side but I’ll still give it a shot because I’m always looking for new products to help protect my color. It tends to fade faster at summer because of the sun rays and all the chlorine in the pool water, so anything that can slow down that process is fine with me. I’m pretty excited about this sample because Aveeno happens to be one of my favorite drugstore brands.

Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo & Conditioner
Whoa, bold color after 45 washes? That’s a pretty bold statement, too bad I probably won’t be able to confirm it because it means I will need to stop using my current shampoo for at least another 2 months. I do love the addition of SPF though, I usually have to use a separate product to spray on my hair when going outside, so this is definitely a nice bonus.

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter
This was our tiny swatch-sized extra this season (like Magic Lumi in the Spring bag). Well, I do love using all sorts of tinted lip balms and lip glosses, so I’m pretty excited to give this little one a try. Too bad it doesn’t have SPF, but I’m sure I could layer it on top of my SPF50 Chapstick and it will work just fine…
