SquareHue April 2015: The Decades – 1930

pr sample

First things first – I squovaled my nails again for the time being, I think I had enough of the round shape for now. It was great for preventing them from splitting though, but I just feel like wearing them square with brighter colors, and that’s exactly what we got in our April SquareHue Box. This time we are invited to experience the 1930’s, a decade that changed the lives of everyone in the nation forever.

It took me 3 thin coats to achieve the desired opacity, but the result was well worth it – a beautiful bright hue that will be perfect for summer, especially on my toes. This shade was inspired by Monopoly board game that became the favorite pastime in families across America at the height of the Great Depression, and now you will be hard pressed to find a household that doesn’t have it in their game cabinet.

It can be a one-coater, but I prefer to apply at least two coats for more even coverage. WPA was inspired by the famous program launched by Roosevelt in April 1935, that provided employment for over 8.5 million people across the country.

Like WPA it’s also a one-coater, but I just prefer using 2 coats or more for that nearly-flawless finish. This nail polish was inspired by 1939 World’s Fair Tomorrowland exhibit that introduced innovative methods of transportation.

Which one of these three is your favorite? What colors do you like to wear on your nails for Spring? Share in the comments below!
