First things first – I squovaled my nails again for the time being, I think I had enough of the round shape for now. It was great for preventing them from splitting though, but I just feel like wearing them square with brighter colors, and that’s exactly what we got in our April SquareHue Box. This time we are invited to experience the 1930’s, a decade that changed the lives of everyone in the nation forever.
HOW IT WORKS: For $14.99/month + Shipping & Handling, SquareHue subscribers receive a limited edition collection of 3 carefully curated season-appropriate nail polish colors. Each month has a distinct personality to suit a variety of dress needs. Quick drying “5-Free” Clean formula does not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Camphor or Formaldehyde Resin. The first color is called Boardgame 1934, a warm reddish carrot creme [it’s almost a SquareHue orange!] with high gloss finish and semi-sheer coverage. It took me 3 thin coats to achieve the desired opacity, but the result was well worth it – a beautiful bright hue that will be perfect for summer, especially on my toes. This shade was inspired by Monopoly board game that became the favorite pastime in families across America at the height of the Great Depression, and now you will be hard pressed to find a household that doesn’t have it in their game cabinet.
The next color is called WPA 1935, a cool-toned minty green, with semi-glossy finish and opaque finish. It can be a one-coater, but I prefer to apply at least two coats for more even coverage. WPA was inspired by the famous program launched by Roosevelt in April 1935, that provided employment for over 8.5 million people across the country.
And lastly, we have a beautiful Tomorrowland 1939, a radiant orchid purple creme with high gloss finish. Like WPA it’s also a one-coater, but I just prefer using 2 coats or more for that nearly-flawless finish. This nail polish was inspired by 1939 World’s Fair Tomorrowland exhibit that introduced innovative methods of transportation.
THE VERDICT: I think my favorite color of the three is Tomorrowland, I just have a thing for these beautiful lilacs and lavenders that look both fun and classy on the nails.

Tomorrowland is my fave, too, but it’s hard not to like a minty creme like WPA.
It’s really hard to not like any of them! Even that carrot orange is perfect for the beach.
I am just so taken by this whole concept that I look forward to seeing what you get! I love WPA, but Boardgame is great too.
I know, right? In 2014 they had a Passport Collection inspired by destinations, but Decades intrigues me so much more! I wonder what they plan to do for 2016.
I like that teal shade
It’s very pretty, perfect for Spring/Summer!
WPA 1935 is perfection! I love your nail shape!
Thanks girl! I loved having my nails rounded, but fancied a change 🙂
I’ve never heard of this brand but I love their colors.
It’s a subscription box company, you can’t buy their polishes individually. The formulas are great and comparable to Zoya.
I love their bottles and packaging. That was one of my favorite things when I subscribed to them.
I love that square packaging too, makes them look very neat lined up on the rack.
I love the minty green shade. The bottles look really cute!
They are so nice, and look great lined up 🙂
I really like all three of these shades. That’s pretty impressive that the purple and mint can be one coaters. How unheard of for a pastel!
I know, right? Usually it takes me 3 coats to even out the whole thing, but in this case top coat did the trick.
THAT MINT!!!! Holy beautiful!
It’s fabbbbb 🙂
Wow… that mint shade is gorgeous. I have not heard of this brand before… but I’m definitely interested.
It’s a subscription box company, and currently the only way to get their nail polishes. I love that they donate a portion of proceeds to charities that fight human trafficking.
Love that minty green!
It’s a lovely color, indeed, perfect for Spring.
