Spring Beauty #fotd and makeup tutorial using products from Walgreens. |
When it comes to makeup tutorials, I almost always look for ones that enhance natural beauty, and thanks to makeup tips from talented YouTube gurus, it’s never been easier to find inspiration. Today I’m going to share one of my favorite makeup trends for Spring 2014 – petal pink and lilac colors on the eyes. This look is very budget friendly – I used mostly drugstore products for the entire face, from foundation and concealer, to blush and mascara, and all of them you can find at your local Walgreens.
First we need to create a canvas, so I applied Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Liquid Makeup foundation, spreading it outward starting from the middle of my face. Many beauty makeup artists recommend using concealer after the eye shadows, but I normally apply it after foundation. For this look I dabbed Physicians Formula Youtuful Wear Concealer on the inner corners of my eyes, over bottom eyelids, and around nasolabial folds to hide dark spots and other skin discolorations. Lastly, I applied Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker pH Powered Bronzer to define my cheekbones; followed by Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Youth-Boosting Illuminating Face Powder to highlight the bridge of my nose, under the eyebrows, over the cheekbones, a little bit on the forehead, chin and cupid’s bow; then set everything with L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Powder. As for the eyebrows, I couldn’t find a drugstore product that I like, so I’m wearing my usual Benefit Gimme Brow.
Adding drama with Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in 393A Floral Values, Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara, Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner and KISS Ever EZ Lashes in Style03. |
Now that we have our base, it’s time to add some color, and particular this eye look was inspired by Pantone Color of the Year for 2014 – Radiant Orchid. New Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes generated a lot of buzz in the blogosphere, because the shades are so vibrant and fun! For this tutorial I picked up 393A Floral Values, featuring lilac and rosy hues, perfect for the look I’m trying to achieve. I followed the directions on the back of the package and used the lightest color as a base, next I applied the rosy shade on my eyelid, lilac on the brow bone, indigo in the crease and purple to add some definition to the overall look. After that, I smudged Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner along my top lashes, followed by two coats of Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara. I pretty much never use falsies, but today is a special occasion so I decided to give them a try. For this look I chose KISS Ever EZ Lashes in Style03, I think they are a nice middle ground between glam and natural. At this point I realized that I completely skipped blush, so I just dabbed the pinkest shade from Wet n Wild palette on my cheeks, and it actually worked quite well 🙂
Finishing the look with Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Lust For Blush and Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Sweet Grapefruit. |
To finish the look, I decided to mix together Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Lust For Blush and Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Sweet Grapefruit.
A pile of treasures! 🙂 |
All of these items are very easy to find, since Walgreens has a huge beauty aisle, however I had to hunt down Milani products, because they had their own little stand next to travel-sized and shaving supplies.

Ready for before and after pic? Here it is! These products are available at your local drugstore, and I spotted all of them at Walgreens while shopping for my new Milani and Wet n Wild goodies used for this look.
I also like natural and softer looks. You look great.
Thank you! 🙂
Your look is gorgeous! I love the new Milani lip glosses! I have two, and I need to pick up the shade you used. So pretty! How do you like the Neutrogena foundation? I’ve been curious about i.
Thank you, Amber! 🙂 I find Neutrogena foundation a bit on the thick side, and really hard to get out of the bottle [I used a Q-tip]. I had oil in the t-zone area oozing through by 4pm, so it’s probably best used by people with dry skin.
I will probably try it then, since my skin is on the drier side!
Beautiful FOTD!!! <3
Thank you 🙂
Your skin looks amazing! Great buys. I love the color whispers
Agreed, Color Whispers are among my favorite drugstore products 🙂 And thank you! <3
Very nice! I really like the look you put together.
Thank you Destany :))
I probably would have put the lipstick on my cheeks, like my momma did in the olden days! lol. I like the soft FOTD you created, but you really have a lovely, natural makeup-free face! Your skin is gorgeous.
I probably would have too, but Color Whispers are so sheer! And thank you 😀 <3
That mascara and the falsies look great on you.

Love the look you created! Beautiful!

I bought two different ones to play with, I think so far the vivid palette is my favorite in terms of color payoff and overall pan quality. And thank you!! 🙂
