You all know, I love my skin care and always happy to try something new. This time I had an opportunity to try out a product from Skin&Co Roma‘s new Truffle Therapy line – Truffle Therapy Serum. The fragrance of this serum is almost identical to the Face Cream from the same line, but has more grassy notes to it, so it smells “lighter”, while still following the same base bouquet. I’m seriously very impressed with perfumers working on this line, maybe Skin&Co Roma can consider creating a perfume with those same notes, I’m sure it will be a big hit with the fans.
This white serum has a runny milky consistency, which is slightly tacky to touch. I love using tacky serums because they fuse with other products on my face, and make my makeup adhere better and last longer. Just like Truffle Therapy Face Cream, this serum absorbs into the skin right away, leaving it velvety soft and more even. The formula complements the moisturizer really well: it makes the skin soft and even, while the moisturizer provides lifting and pore-minimizing effect.
After using Truffle Therapy Serum for two weeks along with Truffle Therapy Face Cream I noticed short term as well as long term improvements to my skin’s texture: it appears more even and lifted, and the laugh lines around my mouth slightly less visible.
If you read my previous review, you remember that I didn’t recommend the moisturizer for people with dry skin. However, I think this serum would work really well for people with any skin type – from oily to very dry, because it’s used as a base layer under your regular moisturizer. Just to test my theory, I layered it with several moisturizers from my stash – both high-end and drugstore – and didn’t experience any negative reaction. It’s a winner, for sure!
THE VERDICT
I think this serum is going to become one of Skin&Co Roma’s bestsellers, because it provides both long- and short-term skin improvements, and can be used by people with any skin type. It layers wonderfully under makeup and other skin care products, creating a great base that will work tirelessly to make your skin more beautiful with each consecutive application.
