Shaanxo x Colourpop: Deluxe, XO, Rebel, and Selfie Super Shock Shadows

purchased

I succumbed to the pressure and finally placed my very first Colourpop order; there were way too many recommendations from bloggers whose opinion I know I can trust. As it turned out, Shaanxo x Colourpop bundle became my gateway drug and now I’m practically obsessed with this inexpensive makeup line.

Today on the blog I posted review and swatches of Shaanxo x Colourpop set that includes Deluxe, XO, Rebel, and Selfie Super Shock Shadows. It’s a nice mix of matte and shimmery neutrals that I could start using right away without having to practice any looks in front of the mirror first.

I also used a flat synthetic eyeshadow brush to help blend the color in the crease.

“XO is perfect for highlighting the inner corner. Rebel is the most amazing Khaki shade It looks gorgeous all over the lid or lower lash line. Deluxe is gorgeous blended all over the lid for a darker bronze smokey eye. Selfie is an amazing transition shade to use in your crease, or all over the lid for a natural sunkissed glow!” – Shaaanxo

Rebel is a lovely warm khaki green, that shows up olive when sheered out. IMO, it’s a bit flat to be used as an all-over color, but it works really well as a crease shadow, providing definition with its intensely pigmented formula.

It’s a tricky shade to pull off, and I wouldn’t wear it on its own, but I made it work by using it as a transition shade. It looks great paired with Rebel!

Consider me obsessed, because I use XO, like, every single day, even on my lazy days in. I slap on some BB cream and mascara, dip my finger in this pot of shimmery pearly champagne goodness, and rub it on my lids for 2 seconds – voi la, all of a sudden I look nice and pulled together 😉 XO works great as an all-over color on its own, in the inner corner to brighten up your eyes, in the center or the lid to add depth, as a base for other colors, under the brow bone, and even on top of my cheekbones – this stuff is pretty universal.

It’s drop dead gorgeous! I mean, wow, it’s seriously one of the prettiest bronze shadows I’ve ever seen, and if you like wearing warm brown shimmery makeup, you will love this one as much as I do.

The shimmers outperformed the mattes in terms of ease of application, I guess that’s because shimmery colors are generally easier to blend out with nothing but a finger. The mattes however ended up being more resistant to creasing, even though none of these four creased badly. If you have deep creases and oily lids like I do, you’ll be happy to know that the creasing on these is almost non-existent, even after 10 hours of wear.

Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!

I mean, it’s lower than a drugstore, but better than most department store brands! I anticipate they will rise their prices eventually.

The shimmers are especially amazing, because both of them have that multidimensional depth so they can each be worn on their own and never look flat. These four have everything – the staying power, the pigmentation, the blendability, which combined with low cost makes it a steal. I’d say, grab them while you can, because who knows how long these low prices will last.

WHERE TO BUY: $20 USD for 1 bundle. Available at Colourpop.

Have you tried Colourpop makeup yet? What’s your favorite way of applying cream eye shadows? Let me know in the comments?

I loved the look of this set when I saw Honey’s review about a week or so ago, and now here you are reviewing it again. These are my shades including the green. And I still haven’t tried ColourPop. Altho I shouldn’t be spending any $ on more makeup, I make need to buy it! So pretty on you!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:35 pm

This particular set is Limited Edition, so I’m assuming once it sells out, they’ll be gone for good. I highly recommend these, and placed two more orders with them already 🙂

I still haven’t picked up anything from this brand. I get overwhelmed when I get on their website they are like MAC with all of their collections heheh. These are pretty shadows and will be good no matter what season!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:34 pm

They are really on a roll with all those latest releases, but it’s nice that they have that sorting system, so you can at least search for the finish or color you’re looking for – that’s how I found several colors I recently bought that I now use as eyeliners. Yes. I bought more. I have a problem, lol.

I neeeeeeeeeed this!!!!! Goodness, I need to get my butt into gear!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:33 pm

Yess, girl, you need this, like, yesterday! And such a good price, too!

  4. June 11, 2015 / 3:46 pm

gorgeous look! I almost bought this but ended up with the Jamie Greenburg set instead!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:33 pm

Thank you! I would love to try that set as well, but I just don’t need that many blushes. I think I’ll buy a couple of them individually though 🙂

Oh I love the look you did! And that you have already hit pan on Xo – awesome! I actually want the new foursome that Colourpop has done with CoffeeBreakWithDani!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:31 pm

Thank you! This look is so ridiculously easy, I don’t think it needs a tutorial – one finger smudge of XO on the lid, and then another finger swipe of Deluxe in the crease, haha 🙂 I’ve been eyeing that new quad as well, but not sure I really need those colors. After all, they’re all cream shadows and will probably dry out before I get to use them much.

Very pretty set! I’m waiting for Metamorphosis and Rebound sets to get here!

    • June 11, 2015 / 10:24 pm

I’m thinking of picking up Metamorphosis as well, and I already purchased the Rebound set. Both of them are so pretty, but I think I would reach for the colors in the Rebound set more often.

The shades are beautiful. Can’t beat the price however they should improve their shipping. It took forever when I placed my first order

    • June 16, 2015 / 12:44 pm

No kidding, the shipping was definitely a downside, that has to change if they want to keep customers happy. I think I waited a good two weeks for this order.

I may be one of the last people on the planet who hasn’t tried Colour Pop. 😛

    • June 16, 2015 / 12:43 pm

Girl, until recently, I felt the same way! And now I’m wondering why I didn’t try them sooner.

    • June 16, 2015 / 12:42 pm

It was the first one that caught my attention, because the colors are so perfect for everyday wear.

  11. June 12, 2015 / 10:30 am

I swear my heart stops every time I see Color Pop swatches, they are so damn beautiful.

    • June 16, 2015 / 12:40 pm

They are rightfully overhyped – the products are amazing.

  16. June 13, 2015 / 10:35 pm

Girl… these colors, oh my gosh look fabulous on you. I am so in love with this collection – it’s one of my fav four shadows.

    • June 16, 2015 / 12:39 pm

It’s fantastic! Luckily, I was able to find a dupe for XO, so I’ll have my replacement when I run out. It’s another pretty from Colourpop 🙂
