Romantic Spring Beauty Look with glō∙minerals

The Beauty Council is at it again! Today we collaborated with glō∙minerals to bring you our Spring Beauty stories and makeup looks. When does Spring officially start where you are? Here in Michigan things start warming up right around this time, and a few days ago I actually slept with an open window for the first time this year.

In Winter I usually go for pale skin/bright lips combination, because it looks really cool and contrasts with all that snow and ice outside. But come Spring I start reaching for romantic colors, like pinks and soft corals, that I wear on my lips, cheeks, and sometimes even eyes!

For today’s Spring-inspired FOTD I chose glō∙minerals Shimmer Duo in Candlelight; Eye Shadow singles in Haze, Twig, Sand Pebble, and Orchid; Blush in Papaya; and new Suede Matte Stick in Bliss .

Start with clean moisturized skin, then apply a little bit of primer and your favorite foundation. I often have to blend together a few drops from several different bottles to get the color to match my complexion, because none of them ever seem to be the perfect fit. Fill in your brows with a pencil, brow pomade, or with brow powder [that’s what I use normally, because I prefer softer more natural look].

Finally, I swiped Orchid in the outer corner and also ran it along my bottom lashes, then blended out a small dot of Sand Pebble in the middle of the lid to add some definition. To finish my eye makeup, I ran a thin line of the same powder I used on my brows along my top lashes as if it was an eyeliner, then curled the lashes and applied two coats of mascara [volumizing works best for romantic looks].

I topped the blush with the golden highlight pan, and also added a little bit of the silvery highlighter in the inner corners of my eyes, bridge of my nose, and the cupid’s bow. That trick helps make the lips appear fuller, so you should really try it some time, if you haven’t already. By the way, for every Shimmer Duo palette sold, glō donates a portion of proceeds to National Breast Cancer Foundation.

It went on like butter and made my lips feel soft and nourished.

For instance, the blush and all four eye shadows I used today, contain antioxidant blend of vitamins A, C, E and green tea extract; and the new matte lipstick features nourishing mango seed oil and mango butter. No wonder my lips loved it! Talc-free and non-comedogenic, glō∙minerals makeup is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin.

Right, isn’t it pretty? And the formula is unlike any other matte lipsticks I’ve tried – this one is actually moisturizing.

I totally agree with you Chelsea! Papaya is gorgeous on every complexion, and it’s pigmented enough to show up even on the deepest of skin tones.
