Ricky’s RickyHome: Authentic NYC Moments

pr sample

I don’t know when I last saw soap on a rope, but this one from Ricky’s RickyHome sure brought a smile on my face. RickyHome line features three types of products: scented candles, hair-there-everywear spray mists, and soap on a rope; in five fun fragrances that represent the soul of NYC. For this review I received Soap on a Rope in “Walk of Shame” and Hair, There, Every-wear Mist in “Drunk Brunch”.

Soap on a Rope in “Walk of Shame”

Walk of Shame fragrance includes notes of Sparkling Lemon, Orange Crush, Watery Jasmine, Linden Blossom, Lily of the Valley, Sheer Musk, and White Woods. It’s a very pleasant, lightly floral scent, which really smells like early morning. This vegetable oil based soap works well to gently and effectively cleanse the skin and add a subtle trace of fragrance. The bar is HUGE [it weighs half a pound!] so you get a pretty good value for the money.

Hair, There, Every-wear Mist in “Drunk Brunch”

Drunk Brunch fragrance includes notes of White Peach, Pineapple, Linen Accord, Jasmine, Sweet Violet, Orris, Sandalwood, and White Musk. It’s a bittersweet, slightly spicy and crisp scent, that really smells like party and mimosas. This multi-purpose liquid is infused with silk amino-acids and aloe vera, and can be used as a body mist, room spray, and even as hair spray, because in NYC “ain’t nobody got room for a pile of products!”

RickyHome features some other fun scents, like Street Meat, Banker Husband and Taco Tuesday; each referencing a genuine NYC experience.

THE VERDICT
Both RickyHome fragrances I tried smelled very unique, and I especially liked Walk of Shame. It’s a pleasant lightweight floral scent, and I think I would really like it in a candle form. The soap bar felt very gentle and cleansed the skin well. The spray was a great idea, I really enjoyed the versatility of it; I think it was a smart decision to make an all-purpose product that has multiple uses.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY
Walk of Shame Soap on a Rope – $6.99 USD for 8oz. Available at Ricky’s.
Drunk Brunch Hair, There, Every-wear Mist – $9.99 USD for 5.5 fl. oz. Available at Ricky’s.

Have you ever used soaps on a rope? Don’t you just love the idea?

Hey Kim! — I haven’t heard of them either until very recently, but they strike me as a fun and quirky company.

Hi Leelo! — They’re a NYC based chain of stores, that also sells their own branded products.

I haven’t seen soap on a rope in YEARS. How fun! How was the ‘everywhere’ mist? Did it hold your hair? Did it make you sticky? That doesn’t seem like a working product to me!

Me too, Nidia, I only remember it from my camp days, and that was over a decade ago. The mist didn’t hold my hair, it was more like a room/body fragrance spray. It lasted a couple hours on my skin, and didn’t feel sticky.
