It’s been a while since I last did a nail post, hasn’t it? Sure feels like forever to me! Today I’m sharing swatches and review of Ricky’s newest RickyColor Hot Spots Collection, which includes five fun glitter toppers. As you might have guessed, the collection was inspired by NYC hot spots.
The first topper is Off Duty – a mix of neon yellow and white hex glitters of assorted sizes. It will look good layered over solid black or pastel lime base color. In the swatch below [and the rest of the swatches] I’m wearing two coats, with no base or top coat.

The second topper is Sunday Morning Murray Hill – a mix of neon yellow, neon pink, and white hex glitters of assorted sizes. It will look great over deep purple, navy, and cream base colors.

Third topper is called Governor’s Island Circus, and the glitter flecks here are represented by white and neon pink hexes of assorted sizes. It will look really good over light gray, cream, nude, and pastel lilac.

Next topper is Sample Sale Line – a fun mix of sky blue, neon pink, and white hex glitters of assorted sizes. It pairs well with black, blue, dark gray, and has potential to look really fun in a jelly sandwich manicure.

Our fifth and final topper – Central Park Boat Basin – features white and sky blue glitter hexes of assorted sizes. I can already see it looking great with pure white and any off-white bases. From unconventional colors, I think it has potential of looking great with pastel yellow, silver shimmer, and rainbow holos.

All five polishes are densely packed with particles, so I don’t have to fish for them. The brush distributes the glitters smoothly and evenly, and it’s really easy to even out the occasional clumps without creating a bunch of bubbles or smudging the base color underneath.

As with most glitters, these can be a pain to remove, but it’s not worse than any other toppers I used. The tried-and-true foil wrap soak method does the trick, but you could also try using those sponge jars. Overall, I thought this collection was very fun and Summery, and these are all the colors I would personally wear. It’s rare that I don’t have a favorite, but in this case, I really like them all equally!

I THINK my favorite is the yellow one, Sunday morning Murray Hill, but they all look pretty.
Oops! The yellow one is called Off Duty. LOL
I am so homesick for NYC, and these are so darn cute. I need to pick up a couple!
These look exactly like Color Club’s new glitters from summer! The yellow/pink/white mix is my favorite 🙂 Love the overall name of the collection, too!
Can’t pick a favorite. Want all of them! 😀
These glitters are beautiful! I love how loud they are. I think Off Duty may be my favorite.

These are really cute! The only one I don’t see myself reaching for is Sample Sale Line. I don’t normally reach for yellows, but I do like this one! Go, Ricky’s!

Gorgeous swatches! I wish glitters weren’t such a pain to remove.
These shades are just beautiful!
I need to get these… but not sure if they ship to Hawaii. I need the yellow at the least, but I want them all 🙂
