I have something different for you today! One of my goals was to incorporate more lifestyle content on the blog this year, and with the Big Game right around the corner I thought I’d share my favorite Easy Steakhouse Blue Cheese Burger Recipe. The whole thing takes me no more than 10-15 minutes, including the prep, so I can spend time enjoying the party instead of slaving away in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I love cooking and can happily spend hours to make a proper risotto or homemade ravioli, but not on the days when we have company. So at times like these I pull out my Little Black Book of quick and easy recipes that leave me with more time and energy to have fun with everyone!

Remember, the whole point of this recipe is convenience, and what could be more convenient than Ball Park Flame Grilled Patties made with premium meats that come already cooked and seasoned? All you have to do is pop them in the microwave for a minute to enjoy that bold and juicy flame-grilled taste. In addition to the burger patties I also picked up some crowd-pleasing appetizers – Tyson® Any’tizers that are made with delicious white chicken meat. Protein-packed and coated in homestyle breading, they come in a variety of flavors to satisfy all of those picky eaters.

Ingredients
  • 2 Ball Park Flame Grilled Patties: Original Beef
  • 2 burger pretzel buns
  • 1/2 medium red onion sliced into 1/4" rings
  • 1/2 medium greenhouse tomato thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup iceberg lettuce torn by hand
  • 2 tbsp salted butter divided
  • 2 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
  • 1/2 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tbsp stone ground dijon mustard
  • salt, pepper to taste
Servings: burgers
Instructions
  1. Put one patty on a microwave-safe dish and cover with a clean paper towel. Cook on HIGH for 75 seconds (times may vary depending on your appliance). Repeat until you cook the desired amount of patties.
  2. While the patties are cooking preheat a large frying pan on medium heat and melt half of the butter. Saute the onions in melted butter until caramelized 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Wipe the cooking pan with a paper towel and melt the rest of the butter on medium heat. Put pretzel buns cut side down and leave on the pan until the edges are golden brown, approximately 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Mix mayonnaise with dijon mustard to make the mustard sauce.
  5. Smooth 1 tbsp of mustard sauce over both halves of the pretzel bun and assemble the burgers by layering the cooked beef patty, caramelized onions, 1 tbsp blue cheese, 2 thin tomato slices, and 1/4 cup of torn iceberg lettuce leaves.

Depending on how juicy you like your burgers to be, you may or may not have some mustard sauce left over. Don’t let it go to waste and serve it as a dip for your favorite Tyson® Any’tizers! I used it with Buffalo Boneless Chicken Wyngz, but it can work for just about any appetizer or even as a nice addition to a platter full of bright and crispy veggies. I plan to serve a mix of both to satisfy everyone’s tastes.

Total indulgence but once or twice a year, I can do it 🙂

Indulgence indeed! I always crave comfort food when it’s cold, so we often eat the traditional grilled goods when it’s actually freezing outside 🙂 I do love my salads though!
