If you’ve been reading my blog regularly for the past month, you might have already met my 5-month-old Siberian Forest Cat Luna that recently became part of our family [and my blogging assistant who loves sticking her nose into my designer blushes]. This is a natural breed that was known in my country for over one thousand years, and currently there are undomesticated wild populations of these beautiful cats roaming the forests of Russia. Siberians are known for their beautiful three-layered coats that feel soft and luxurious to touch; but what do I feed Luna to maintain her silky fur while making sure she gets nutritious meals? After consulting with various pet food experts I decided that grain free diet is the way to go.

One of their product lines – Muse® – comes in 24 grain-free varieties with lots of recipes to choose from. How can I ever pick among delicious chowders, yummy poultry or fish bites in natural broth, hearty gravy, easy-to-eat paté, and mouthwatering toppers? I fully intend to let Luna try one of each; after all our precious kitties deserve the best!

To test the waters I bought four varieties: Chicken & Herring in Chowder, Chicken & Tuna with Shrimp topper, Tuna & Spinach in Broth, and Chicken & Spinach in Broth.

Right away I could tell this is some seriously high quality cat food: the chunks looked like human-grade chicken breast pieces soaked in delicious gravy with small bits of spinach mixed in. I bet I could eat that myself and it would taste delicious!

Natural has never been so delicious. Put Muse to the test with our clean plate guarantee.

Challenge accepted! Luna wolfed down everything on her plate, but was too full to lick it clean. She did come back later to finish the remaining bits though, so Purina delivered on their promise, and now they have a happy kitty-client that’s begging me to buy some more Muse® Chicken & Spinach cups.

Your cat can have both when you choose Muse. After all, are these the eyes of an animal that eats grains? Every cat is a panther at heart!

Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorable #MyCatMyMuse [ad] #cbiasIn Luna’s case, she actually is a wild cat that would never eat something like wheat or rice that are commonly found in pet food these days. While her natural prey – birds and small rodents – might have some grain present in their tiny stomachs, it would normally be partially digested already. Cats lack the necessary enzymes to properly digest carbs, and in the wild their diet would be mostly protein, a moderate amount of fat, and only 1-2% carbs that come from their prey’s bodies. I know this sounds like common sense, but I’ve seen cat food that contains over 30% carbs! So if your kitty is overweight – carbs [not fat! cats can digest fat ridiculously well, unlike humans] are most likely the culprit.

I went to Purina’s R&D center & saw all the animals years ago when I worked on their ad account. It was a lot of fun

How nice! I love being around animals, and if I could, I would adopt all of the kitties from those adoption kennels.

That cat is gorgeous!! I don’t have any pets but my sister has a cat. I have to tell her about this. Sounds like it’s nutritious.

Luna is so pretty, and lucky that her owner actually does research about food and doesn’t just give her any old thing. Our dogs get a high quality food… but then they get treats. And, they lick their butts. So.. yeah.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:09 pm

She really is quite a little diva, isn’t she? Cats lick their butts too, though, haha 🙂

I didn’t even know people fed their cats grains. Pretty cat by the way.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:10 pm

They might be doing it unknowingly, because most conventional cat food contains things like rice or corn meal as fillers. And thank you!

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:10 pm

Thank you! She is a doll 🙂

Your kitty is so cute! I feed grain free to my dogs.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:13 pm

That’s great! Grain-free is the way to go, in my opinion.

Such a cute, sweet kitty! I make sure my doggie gets grain free food.

Thank you! And it’s always nice to see fellow responsible pet parents 🙂

What an adorable cat. How old is she? I’ve only had dogs but one day I’d like to have a cutie like Luna.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:16 pm

She is 5 months old right now, and I got her last month for my Birthday 🙂 Siberians are called a dog lover’s breed because they show dog-like loyalty to their owners and are very friendly with people, not like typical cats that will ignore you and hide when people come over.

Such an adorable kitty you have! And that packaging is cute too.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:16 pm

Thank you! And yes, it is super cute. It caught my eye right away when I saw the display.

Luna is gorgeous! Grain-free makes far more sense. I’m actually envious of cats’ ability to digest fats better.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:17 pm

I know, right? I wish I could eat like a cat without gaining weight.

  10. October 16, 2015 / 1:38 pm

I’m also trying to give my kitty the best diet possible for his health since he’s just a baby! I’ll look for these next time I shop!

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:17 pm

I hope your kitty grows up happy and healthy!

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:18 pm

Thank you! And yes, this is probably one of the best conventional foods I could get for her.

  11. October 18, 2015 / 7:29 pm

Your kitty is so pretttttyyyy. Great food too!

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:20 pm

Thank you! I researched a lot about cat food and and all the junk pet food companies put in it. These Muse cups are some of the best things available for cats at Petsmart.

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:20 pm

I’m happy she enjoyed it, too! It’s good for her 🙂
