POPSUGAR MustHave October 2014 Unboxing, Review, Pictures

POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box. The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.

When we get amazing boxes like the September one, sometimes it’s really hard to match up the following month. In October, POPSUGAR Must Have went the traditional route, and included a selection of season-appropriate items and delicious treats, inspired by everything from tricks & treats to cat eyes. Let’s dig in and see what’s inside!

HOW IT WORKS
With POPSUGAR Must Have, you’ll get an exciting monthly box, full of hand-selected items from POPSUGAR editors. It costs $39.95/month and you can use the code REFERF5 to get a special one-time $5 discount off your first box.

Mine Design Chalkboard Candle in Pomegranate – The first thing I grabbed out of the box was this beautiful soy candle, housed in a chalkboard-coated glass. Each candle comes with a small piece of white chalk, and I already used mine to write “cozy” on it. Not very original, I know, but that’s the first thing that popped in my mind when I saw it 🙂

The fragrance is fairly strong, but as with most soy candles, it’s not nearly as powerful when lit. My candle was scented with pomegranate, although I personally think it smells very floral rather than fruity.

The glass itself is perfectly reusable, and I plan to use it as a pencil holder on my desk once the candle burns out. In fact, I may save those cute pencils from the September box, and put them in there.

Happy Socks Animal Print – I’ve been looking to buy a whole new set of socks, so this pair came in handy. While leopard print is not something I would have picked, they quickly grew on me.

The material is soft to touch, and since it’s a cotton blend, I hope they don’t shrink in the dryer. Some people are concerned about the sizing, and according to the label, this particular pair should be suitable for anybody within US Women’s 5½ and 9½. I hope that helps!

butter LONDON Wink Eye Pencil – I received a different color of Wink pencil in another subscription service earlier this year, but the color I got was too wild for me [I got hot pink].

This gunmetal gray is perfect! It’s not too dark to be vampy, and not too light to require being layered with additional colors [not like layering is necessary, but light eyeliners just look weird on my eyes].

The formula is fantabulous, and I expected no less from a quality brand. The swatch above lasted a full day even after I washed my wrist with soap and water, and wore clothes over it.

Isaac Jacobs Acrylic Frame – I’ve seen similar frames around, but never thought about buying one for some reason.

POPSUGAR MustHave October 2014 Unboxing, Review, Pictures | via @glamorable #bbloggers #beauty #subscriptionboxes #beautybox #popsugar #popsugarmusthave #musthavebox #ad #fall #falltrendsThis frame comes in two parts, and each part has tiny round magnets attaches to all four corners to keep whatever is inside in place.

I picked up a random leaf from the ground to show you what it looks like, and that gave me an idea to use this frame for seasonal decorations by suspending things like a red maple leaves, or decorative snowflakes, hearts, pumpkins etc…

Dean & DeLuca Pumpkin Spice Malt Balls – I have a confession to make: I absolutely hate malt balls, but these are out of this world. The coating is seasoned to perfection with my exact idea of what pumpkin spice should taste like, and the shell of the core is delightfully crunchy, while the middle part is nice and soft.

These malt balls are as sweet as they are addicting, so watch out for those calories if you’re on a diet, ladies, because these babies sure taste like they’re loaded! For those of us that want more POPSUGAR included a coupon code for 15% off your purchase at Dean & DeLuca.

Nailed Kit Halloween Decals – I’ve only used nail decals once and it was a very pleasant experience, so I’m hoping these are as easy, because I’m not good at tricky nail art stuff at all.

I love the whole Halloween theme here, and will most definitely wear these on my nails this month. This kit was designed exclusively for POPSUGAR Must Have, but I think you can still buy it in Nailed Kit online store.

K.Hall Designs Showeline Shea Butter/Olive Oil Bar Soap – I’m a pathological bar soap hoarder, so I was squealing with excitement about this bar. It’s enhanced with shea butter and olive oil for the most pampering shower experience.

Oh, and by the way, the bar is huge! As you can see below, it barely fits in my hand.

The fragrance isn’t described anywhere, so in case you’re wondering, to me it has that strong milky smell to it, sort of like Cetaphil or Dove Original soaps, if that makes any sense. It’s pretty neutral, and can be used by any age or gender.

…and lastly, everybody got a $40 gift code to The Blue Jean Bar. It’s a personal shopper service, similar to Stitch Fix, where you are assigned a stylist who picks out an outfit for you based on your size and style preferences. The outfit is then shipped to you, so you could try your new clothes comfortably at home. Keep what you love, send back what you don’t in a prepaid envelope, and you’ll only be charged for the items you keep. Each shipment comes with a non-returnable $20 styling fee, which is applied towards your purchase if you decide to keep something.

THE VERDICT
October POPSUGAR Must Have box was… different? You know, we usually get one big ticket item, and then the rest of the space is filled with smaller things, but this time the product value was pretty evenly distributed. This was probably what I’d call the perfect stocking stuffer box! Everything is so easy to gift, and the items are really high quality. I don’t even know what my favorites are honestly, because I liked more things than I normally do in an average box. Here’s the unfortunate part: while promotional “blogger” boxes have all been shipped out, the normal boxes are only starting to ship as I write this, cutting it really close to Halloween. I only hope that all of you lovely ladies receive yours in time to use those fun decals 🙂

Oh, almost forgot to add! Ten lucky PSMH subscribers will receive a beautiful piece of jewelry by Lele Sadoughi with their October box [both current and new subscribers qualify for this offer, as long as you get the October box you have a chance of getting one]. The pieces range between $190 and $425, and at least those four I saw in the promotional picture were really pretty. I hope someone here wins one!

Right?? It’s a really well-curated box, although I wish they included something pink for breast cancer awareness.

This box is nice… but I’m not gonna lie I am so attracted to those socks, they are the bees knees.

    Nice box. 🙂

I don’t celebrate Hallowe’en as hard as I used to when my son was growing up. Now, I just put up a few decorations and fill a bowl with candy, in case any little goblins ring my doorbell. Most years, we don’t get any Trick or Treaters and the candy ends up enhancing our waistlines. 😛
