ACME Party Box Company Bamboo Heart Cutting Board & Cheese Knife – Awww, I heart you, too, POPSUGAR! Hubs and I eat cheese a lot, but we don’t have a proper cheese knife. Now we do! I’m not a huge fan of that tacky branding on the board, but it’s perfectly usable when flipped to the other side. If cheese is not your thing, this set will make an excellent hostess gift.
U.S. Apothecary Rose Water Bubble Bath – Rose water… water with roses… bath with rose petals! It’s one of the main components of any cheesy romantic date, or some quality me-time with candles, petals, and champagne, according to Hollywood. I for one adore the packaging, which by the way looks like a bottle of wine [no cork, so it would be a cheap one lol], and that’s another subtle reference to Valentine’s day.
Bauble Bar Mini Arrow Pendant Necklace – Cupid’s arrow, anyone? I see what you did there, POPSUGAR. Well, joke’s on me, because your tactics totally worked and I am even more in love with this box than I was before. I like silver jewelry, and this teeny-tiny dainty-schmainty arrow is very on trend right now. Don’t you just feel like the world’s coolest fashionista whenever something you already own becomes the it-thing to wear?
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in True Love – The shade name is very appropriate for the occasion! Tarte blushes are a cult classic and won numerous awards for their long-lasting formula and bright pigments, although some of their newer releases weren’t nearly as impressive. I don’t know if there are any variations, but I sure am happy with the color I got.
Sally Beauty FingerPaints Nail Color in Pink Imagination – I have never tried FingerPaints polishes before, but heard good things about the formula. I just applied on on my nails and while they were still drying, my husband popped in and said that he really likes the color. Also, the name is pretty sultry, wouldn’t you say? 😉
Figs & Rouge 100% Natural Balm in Pomegranate – I think these all-natural lip balms were sent in different flavors, and I scored pomegranate. Not my top choice, but it’ll do, considering that most lip balms I get in subscription boxes are petroleum-based. It comes in a lovely vintage-inspired keepsake tin that can later be reused to carry small things, or maybe even as a pill box. Also, I’m reaching here, but let’s just say this balm fits the V-day theme by making the lips kissably soft.
Chuao Ravishing Rocky Road Bar – What can be more classic for Valentine’s day than chocolate? Chuao is one of my favorite choco-brands, and I tried a whole bunch of their flavors, but never this one. It has large marshmallow chunks and whole almonds, making it hard to chip off evenly, but still it was delicious. I can see someone coming up with marshmallow chocolate, but adding whole salted almonds to the mix was pure genius. Yum!
THE VERDICT
Told you, this box was awesome! I was really hoping for some fancy chocolate and a nice makeup item, and both were in the box. The necklace is super cute, too, and will fit in nicely with my arrowhead earrings. POPSUGAR did a marvelous job curating several fantastic bixes in a row, and I hope this doesn’t mean that we’re in for a dud. By the way, we already have a little spoiler for March – Renewal. Citrus. Fresh. Traveling. Whatever that means, it sure does sound promising. Maybe we’ll even see something from fresh brand in there? But that’s just wishful thinking, of course, so your guess is as good as mine. My prepaid subscription plan expires in March, too, so depending on how good that box will be, I will decide to re-subscribe for another term or cancel.
