PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pen

It’s March, you guys! And while I’m here trying to figure out what to do about my Spring makeup situation I realized I haven’t featured PIXI for a while, so let’s talk about the product that originally got me hooked on that brand to begin with. I got my very first award-winning PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pen [$12, available here] in a subscription box many years ago, and wasn’t too sure about the color at first. I wasn’t super adventurous with my makeup back then [well, not like I am now, but I’m definitely better!], so a teal eyeliner sounded like a crazy bold move. Funny how our priorities change! I tried it anyway over some random black liner. Worked like a charm and stayed on all day even with my oily eyelids in the summer.

So today I wanted to show you four of my recent favorites. I had this festive PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pen Quartette since Christmas but only got around to actually using each of the pencils very recently. They are as fabulous as I remember!

ABOUT THE PENCILS:

PIXI says these paraben-free, mineral oil-free, hypoallergenic liners “glide on like seamless silk” and create a solid jewel-toned line in a single sweep, no retouching necessary. The formula is enhanced with Vitamin E to nourish and protect delicate skin around the eyes.

“The incredibly long-wearing gel eye pencil that glides and stays put all day long.” – Petra

Last year PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pens received a Top Tested Beauty Award from GH Beauty Lab [Good Housekeeping product testing panel].

SHADES:

PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pens come in a multitude of colors! Today I have four to show you, two mattes and two semi-glitters:

  • BlackNoir – an intense rich matte black
  • SlateGrey – satin deep charcoal grey
  • BlackCocoa – rich deep matte brown
  • DeepPlum – rich shimmery plum

PIXI is constantly releasing new shades, so make sure to check out their website for the latest additions to the range.

MY THOUGHTS:

First and foremost, I want to comment on the shades themselves. The descriptions on the website are not always accurate, for instance in reality SlateGrey and DeepPlum are both infused with microglitter. However, PIXI described one of them as a satin finish, and the other is only given a color description, so keep that in mind when shopping. Better yet, google some swatches to get a better idea.

Formula-wise, these are some of my favorite eyeliner pencils at drugstore price point, comparable to higher end products from Marc Jacobs and Urban Decay. They are creamy, very richly pigmented, waterproof, and stay on the lids no matter what even in humid weather conditions. This super longevity is the main reason why they’re so hard to remove, but IMO that’s a small price to pay for a true long-lasting eyeliner for hooded oily lids.

PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pens do not come in twist-up packaging, and need to be manually sharpened. PIXI recommends using their own Dual Pencil Sharpener, but I personally prefer this one from Sephora.

You can purchase PIXI Endless Silky Eye Pen at pixibeauty and Target.
