Fess up, ladies, do you also check out PIXI by Petra display when shopping at Target? I know I do every single time, haha! Well, did you know that they just released some new goodies for Fall? I received several of these to try out, so in this first “batch” review I wanted to talk in detail about three of them: Mattelustre Lipsticks, Endless Brow Gel Pen & Cat Eye Ink eyeliner.
I’m always on the lookout for a good brow product, so Endless Brow Gel Pen in Medium was the first one I put to the test. The color is absolutely perfect for my brow hair! I’ve been looking for a neutral brown that is ashy, but not too gray, and this is exactly what I had hoped to find. The pencil itself is quite soft and can deposit a lot of pigment with just one swipe. The longevity is great, too – I wore it all day long without touchups and by midnight the color didn’t fade at all. I am very impressed! My only gripe is having to sharpen it, because I’m normally bad at it and end up wasting a lot of product, but this is one of those pencils that are so good, the hassle is worth it.
PIXI describes Cat Eye Ink as an innovative liquid eyeliner with a slanted felt tip, that creates a foolproof & precise cat eye. Every tie someone tells me there’s an easy way to do a cat eye, I just roll my eyes, because it’s not easy for me at all 🙂 I swear, my hands always get shaky every time I need to draw a precise line. I know I don’t have a medical condition, so it’s all just in my head. Anyhow, this eyeliner is crazy pigmented and a tad watery. I had a few issues with it seeping in the cracks of my slightly crepey eyelid skin, but a good primer would eliminate that problem.
The color is called Intense Black, and while the intense part is just an artistic exaggeration, the color really is quite dark. You know, sometimes you buy a black eyeliner only to find out it’s actually charcoal or even medium gray? This one’s unmistakably black.
Here’s a selfie featuring the eyeliner and the brow pencil in action. As for the rest of my makeup, here’s the list:
Face: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 10 Beige
Cheeks: Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Alezane
Eye Shadow: inner – marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting, top lid – By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock.
Mascara: Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black
Lips: Charlotte Tilbury KISSING Lipstick in Bitch Perfect
Finally, the stars of the show! PIXI Mattelustre Lipsticks should be on everyone’s radar this Fall, because their formula is way beyond drugstore-level makeup. The name suggests that you can easily wear these as both matte and satin finish lipsticks. In my case I prefer them as matte, I just needed to gently blot my lips with a napkin immediately after the application to absorb the glossy upper layer.
I got two shades to try – Pure Fuchsia, a bright bubblegum pink, and Plum Berry, a plummy brownish dark red. Both colors were bursting with pigment, and are practically one-coaters. They wore for roughly 4 hours before I had to touch up, and Plum Berry even left a beautiful stain behind, so the lips look bright and polished even after the buttery formula completely wears off.
PIXI Mattelustre Lipsticks come in 11 vibrant shades of pinks, berries, and reds, so if these two are not your favorite colors, there are plenty of lovely neutrals to choose from.
And here are some swatches of everything, so you can see the products featured in this post side by side. Aren’t those lippies gorgeous?
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!

I love these lipsticks!
Me, too!
You did a great cat eye! My eyelids are getting old, it’s hard for me to do a cat eye, but I still think they are so cool. I love that Plumberry color!
Thank you Nidia! I feel like mine are getting old, too. I used to love wearing shimmery eyeshadows, but now they often look crepey.
Love your cat eye! I wish I could do one that well!
Thank you Carleen! I promise, I’m not really that good at doing it, but the tip of this eyeliner is shaped perfectly for one-swipe application.
Both those lippies are super-pretty. I wish I could get the hang of a cat-eye.
This eyeliner has a slanted tip that actually makes a cat eye really easy to do – much easier than with a regular thin felt tip liner.
Cat eye looks a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Nailed it.
Thank you Norah!! <3
LOVE that Plum lippie!
Yass! Gorgeous, isn’t it?
I love everything here, especially the plum lipcolor!
It’s fantastic! The color is perfect for Fall 🙂
Plum Berry is gorgeous–‘course your perfect lips don’t hurt the look!
Aw, thank you! You are so sweet!
Your lips are beautifully shaped and these lipsticks look perfect on you. I’m crazy about this brow pencil even if I am going through it too quickly.
It’s so soft, so it will run out sooner than my other pencils, but I love it as well and use it every day 😉
Those lipsticks! Wow!
Aren’t they gorgeous?
I have been hearing such great things about that gel brow pencil. Those lipstick though…girl, they look fabulous and your look overall steal the show. 😉
You are so sweet, Honey!! I am really loving that brow pencil, you seriously need to try it!
