Like my Mom, I am obsessed with moisturizing my hands; at her age she still has hands of a 30-year-old, because she moisturized them all her life. You will find a tube or a bottle of hand lotion by every sink in the house, in the laundry room, on my night table and also on my desk, so buying all of these all the time can get costly. Thanks to iFabbo, I had the opportunity to try Perlier Softening Moisturizing Hand Cream with White Lily Extract, so I wanted to share my thoughts on it with you today.

I admit, I had to google the definition of “lenitive” because I have no idea what it means, but to my defense, I’m foreign, so nobody expects me to have an extensive vocabulary 🙂 Thanks to Perlier, I learned a new word today!
I always choose hand creams with shea butter, because that’s one ingredient I know works really well for my skin. Perlier White Lily Hand Cream contains 15% pure organic shea butter, which is a slightly lower concentration than I’m used to [it’s 20% in my favorite L’Occitane hand cream]. The formula is not what I’d call lightweight, in fact the cream is more on a thick side, but it spreads well anyway. It does leave a thin layer of oily residue that doesn’t get fully absorbed by the skin, but it’s not bad enough to bother me, because I get the same effect from my favorite richer cream. I’m sure if my hands were really dry and chapped, there would be no residue at all because the skin would just drink it up.
Perlier White Lily Hand Cream comes in a very large tall tube, a size better suited for a body lotion, making this particular bottle not very purse-friendly. I currently have it on my desk, and it’s the perfect spot for it; I find myself constantly reapplying it throughout the day whenever I take a break from typing.
I’m also very pleasantly surprised with the price, because Perlier products tend to be within mid-range to luxury price point, while a jumbo tube of White Lily Hand Cream sells for $35 for 6.7 fl. oz., which is only slightly higher than a good drugstore hand cream per ounce. To give you some perspective, one of my current drugstore favorites by Burt’s Bees is $8.99 for 2 oz., which totals to about $30 for the same amount of product as Perlier hand creams.

THE VERDICT
After using this hand cream for a while I have to say that it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried. It really does seem to nourish dry spots, nails and cuticles, making my hands appear smoother and softer. It also helps protect nails against peeling and cracking from dryness. I think this is a good and affordable cream, and you will definitely get a bang for your buck.
