As a big fan of Perlier’s Honey Miel line, I was looking forward to the opportunity to try their newest Royal Elixir Youth Serum, because it features some of the ingredients that I like in skincare products – rose water and royal jelly.
Perlier Honey Miel Royal Elixir Facial Serum – gorgeous packaging |
Perlier says that royal jelly is the main secret behind the longevity of the Queen bee, which lives 50 times longer than the other bees thanks to this extraordinary nourishment. According to the company, Honey Miel Royal Elixir Facial Serum is a “true cosmetic prodigy, which mixes the extraordinary regenerating power of Royal Jelly, fresh as if recently collected, [never freeze dried or made into a powder] and the incredible vital energy of true Italian organic Honey for unprecedented age-defying effectiveness.”

The formula features some other nifty perks. For example, you know that in most skincare products, water is one of the first names on the ingredient list. Perlier replaced water with rose distillate, which provides toning and moisturizing properties [and also smells good].

Another bonus that some might or might not like is gold shimmer, which is not very subtle. It doesn’t look like glitter, but the flecks are bigger than you’d find in, say, a highlighter, so that’s something to consider. I discovered that they add subtle luminosity to the skin when worn as a base layer under foundation.
Perlier Honey Miel Royal Elixir Facial Serum – texture |
Honey Miel Royal Elixir Facial Serum made my skin feel soft and nourished right away, and I can tell that it would work really well for mature skin. Personally, I was not a fan of the shimmer, but i did like the effects, so I decided to use it for my neck, decolletage area and shoulders. I’ve been kind of ignoring those areas for a long time, so I started taking extra care of them, and this would be a wonderful product to add to my routine.

THE VERDICT
This serum made my skin feel soft and nourished, but I wasn’t too excited about the shimmer in the formula. Instead, I am now using Honey Miel Royal Elixir Facial Serum to moisturize my neck, decolletage, and shoulders, and get the skin in those areas ready for Summer.

The shimmer would look nice on the shoulders and decolletage! Great idea.
Indeed, Nidia, these shimmery particles look really nice on my neck and shoulders 🙂
This product sounds great. I like that it is a slightly iridescent look to it, but not a fan of the shimmer either. I think it would look great on the decolletage and shoulder for summer.
You’re right, Jamie, it really makes the shoulders and decolletage area look amazing by adding some shimmer.
Love serums and also not a fan of shimmer but I would def try this!
I’m with you, Norah, I love using serums, but this shimmer is what ultimately made me start using this product on my neck and shoulders instead.
The shimmer wouldn’t be something I would be jazzed about either.
Indeed, Leticia, luckily the shimmer was the only disappointing part about this serum, and I can still use it for neck, shoulders and decolletage area.
Strange that they didn’t get feedback from consumers about the shimmer before launching this product. It otherwise sounds lovely. I was sorry not to get to try it since I’m usually a big Perlier fan
I find it strange too, Allison, but maybe other women actually like the shimmer and I’m the weird one here. Too bad that you didn’t have the opportunity to try it, I would have loved to hear your thoughts.
I would like the shimmer!
Nice! I’m happy at least someone likes that shimmer!
Sounds lovely!
Glad that you like the sound of it!
I don’t think I would like the shimmer. But otherwise it sounds great!
It’s a really nice serum in terms of the overall effect, but like you said, the shimmer is just too much, especially when it starts shimmering in the sun.
Beautiful photos.
Thank you!
I wouldn’t like the shimmer either but the packaging is pretty!

It sounds great. I like a little bit shimmer in my face products, but not much, just a tiny bit.
so, so pretty! I would agree to use it on the shoulders as well.
I love that packaging!
I can’t get enough of this stuff
I absolutely fell in love with this product! Not only is it gorgeous but I love how soft and nice it is.
I’ve been using this and love it!
I’d probably love the shimmer, lol. I definitely like the packaging!
Accck the shimmer would kill it for me!
The packaging alone makes me want to buy the product.
This brand makes really interesting products. I love reading reviews about them.

Yeah, something for mature skin!!
I like this one too. Sometimes I mix it w/ foundation
not a fan of shimmer!
