Without going into too much detail, I just want to say that I’m happy to bring back Weekly Favorites after a long hiatus behind the scenes. Long story short, I accumulated a gigantic backlog and had to sacrifice this series in order to catch up; hopefully this means that it’s business as usual from now on. Alright, let’s see what’s been trending in my rotation this past week!
Oribe Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse – I’ve been loving the look of tousled waves lately, and this is the product I used to achieve them. Spreading a small dollop through the roots and the length of my hair before blow-drying helped add some extra volume and texture. I noticed that it’s easy to over-apply, because the formula has a very strong hold: add too much and you’ve got yourself a helmet made of hair that sort of moves all in one piece, haha!
YSL Blush Volupte Heart of Light in Light 05 – I bought this blush on a whim as part of my Birthday present, and used it at least 2-3 times every week since then. The formula isn’t my favorite, but the color certainly is. It just doesn’t have the lasting power of my other two favorites – Clinique Cheek Pop and Milani Baked Blush; but I never regretted buying it.
Eco Tools Face & Body Sculpting Brush – This is seriously one of the most amazing brushes I bought in a while. It’s fairly large [about the full size of my palm] and meant to be used for applying makeup and contouring the body, but I use it on my face and neck to blend the foundation faster. The bristles are super soft, and the result is always perfect. I love this thing!
Milani Total Lash Mascara – It’s been one of my favorite mascaras for the past several months and I’m on my third tube. This $5 cheapie makes my lashes look a million bucks!
Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Lip Gloss in Darkling and Omen – These two are fairly new additions to my makeup stash, and I’ve been wearing both a lot this week. I particularly like richly pigmented Darkling, it almost looks like liquid lipstick, and the color is perfect for Winter.
